May 5, 201016 yr I've loved the Bengals since I was a kid but they are the most classless run organization in the NFL. They are getting better at all costs. WR gets arrested lets go sign the poster CHILD for off the field trouble in the NFL. It's a toss up who is a bigger laughing stock. The Raiders because they have been terrible or the Bengals who continue to go after the worst of the worst. If anybody wants to get on their soap box about how they could care less as long as the team gets better then please explain to me how this is a better pickup than the Super Bowl MVP for a 5th rounder? That's what I thought! They could have gone the route of signing a guy without off the field trouble like A. Boldin too but that makes sense. May 5, 201016 yr Signing him doesn't guarantee him a roster spot. If he's good enough to make the team and possibly stay off jailtracker it could work. At this point we don't know if he's good enough or can stay out of trouble but he's gone a few years without any off the field issues.

The Bengals have had a lot of success in signing "second and third chance guys" like this. In general, this is simply a move to add depth. Let's see how things play out before we start bashing. If the guy comes in and does well, the majority of you will be praising the move. While I agree with your sentiment, the PacMan is in a totally different league as these guys as far as trouble goes.

The Bengals have had a lot of success in signing "second and third chance guys" like this. In general, this is simply a move to add depth. Let's see how things play out before we start bashing. If the guy comes in and does well, the majority of you will be praising the move. Benson has been successful. I am not sure about Tank. Plus it usually takes these malcontents a couple of years before they start getting in trouble and becoming a bad influence on others. The Bengals are sad. Personally I think Pacman is washed up. May 5, 201016 yr I really think both of the troubled Joneses that the Bengals signed this off-season will have trouble making the roster. I understood the Matt Jones signing because he is a physical specimen and the Bengals love big receivers, but PacMan doesn't make a lot of sense simply because he's no good. All of the good things that he had going for him out of college weren't there when the Cowboys tried to revive him and I just can't see him being worth a spot after this much time off of football. Totally different situation from Ced because he was doomed in Chicago from the 1st day of his holdout. He needed to be brought down a level and forced to earn his living and that has worked out nicely. And I have nothing bad to say about Tank Johnson, he is many years removed from his issues and seems to be a very likable guy. Not to mention he can push the inside of the pocket back with the best of them. PacMan has had more chances than Chris Henry ever did and he has far less talent IMO and has committed far worse acts. I hope that he gets cut pretty quickly.

May 5, 201016 yr :eyeonyou: Accoring to profootballtalk.com :walk: Good bye respect, if any was there in the first place. I can't support this decision. Winning cures everything. If he helps out some and the Bengals are winning, then respect will be given. As much as people don't want to admit it, if the team is winning, we don't hear much about these things anymore. I am not crazy about this move, but it is what it is. I think the main reason for the move, is for the 2011 season. We have both of our corners coming to the end of their contracts, and both will be wanting big pay days. So I think they are hoping, that Pacman can do something, and so this way they can let one of them walk. Is it the right thing to do, no not at all. However that is just how they do things. I am not going to get on here and talk about how much I hate how they do things, and all that stuff. If people don't like it, then find a new team. I bet most people don't, and the same people who are always mad about what the Bengals do in the offseason, will be right there cheering a long if the Bengals are winning in the season. So just accept things for what they are, be a fan of the Bengals or find a new team.

If he can follow the example the Benson has set, and stay out of trouble, why not take a chance on him? He is a great athlete, and they will find a way to get him on the field. If he gets in trouble, they do not lose much - not signing for much, and they actually might get some good PR for cutting a guy at the first sign of trouble.
