Does this question make any sense? Instead of racial profiling, could it be better described as cultural profiling? Just throwing it out there.

Wow. You're right, Muslims are the only threating group of people who could possibly get on an air plane.

So provide me with a list of non-Muslims that flew jets into tall buildings in this country. :popcorn:

Which brings up an excellent point... we are fighting an enemy with no borders... no central command in a fixed nation that can be targeted on a map... soldiers without uniforms... without the morals that would prevent them from hiding behind women and children... without the morals to fight other skilled fighters, but to assault and kill innocent men, women and children just trying to go about their day-to-day lives...

 

What could they possibly have in common that would help us identify them, so we can prevent as many senseless slaughters in the name of Allah as possible?

I know, we should have 2 million Americans a day subject themselves to searches at airport security checkpoints where they will remove their shoes and jackets, open their computers, remove all liquids from their carry-on bags, except marked 3-ounce containers clustered in Ziploc plastic bags... that's the ticket!!!

 

We'll spend billions to step on everyone's toes to avoid hurting a few folks feelings.

Again, the two recent arrests for attempting to bomb a plane were not middle eastern. Racial/ethnic profiling would have missed them both - maybe that is why they made it through. They did not meet the racial/ethnic profile. Last plane flown into a government building was a white American. I guess we missed that racial profile as well. I guess we have to profile all people of color and all white guys. If we do that, then we got it.

I'm fine with white males being profiled around Federal buildings. Several years ago I was targeted very closely in Cincinnati when I would pick up my wife from work. If I stopped for more than a minute the guard would walk over to talk to me. However, my wife told me if a woman was waiting for her husband, she could wait however long it took without anyone coming over.

Some comments in the Arizona thread got me wondering.

 

If a black guy is roaming the streets of a predominantly white suburb or a white guy is lurking around black neighborhoods at 2 AM, shouldn't it set off an alarm in an officers mind?

 

If someone of Middle Eastern decent is flying on a one-way ticket to or from this country paid for in cash shouldn't they be subject to greater scrutiny?

 

If a Latino can't speak any or hardly any English in Arizona, isn't it a probability they're illegal?

 

 

When I was young I sometimes hung out in an area that was known for some minor criminal activity, I was often stopped by the police and questioned because I fit the profile of those that were committing the crimes. Didn't bother me a bit.

Isn't this just another tool used by the police to help them do their job, or do you think it's a form of racism to practice profiling?

 

Years ago it was being precautious, today it's racism. Go figure.
