April 22, 201016 yr At the end of the day he wanted to have the best chance possible to play for a title. If UC didn't hit a slump in the middle of the Big East season and made the tournament, I think he would be announcing for UC tomorrow. His relationship with Cronin and the rest of the UC staff was rock solid, but the results just weren't enough to push them over the top... IN all fairness UC isn't close to a title....not anytime soon.
April 22, 201016 yr With that type caliber of class, I might drive to Seattle and see if he wants to catch a ride back to Lexington with me. That would be a recruiting violation....haha
April 22, 201016 yr The fact that they brought the energy and fun back to UK basketball. That they were the blueprint for the reconstruction of the program. That they brought UK back to the promise land of college basketball and back to domination as far as recruits and publicity. Cats are relevant again because of this team. What exactly is that? Meaning the bolded.
April 22, 201016 yr Author IN all fairness UC isn't close to a title....not anytime soon. In all fairness, at this point neither is UL...
April 22, 201016 yr Brought UK back to relevance. The Unforgettables are remembered for bringing UK back from the dead. This group got them out of ICU. The unforgettables also grossly over-achieved in the majorities eyes. That can't be said about this past class.
April 22, 201016 yr In all fairness, at this point neither is UL... I agree....but UL has been to a Final Four, and two Elite Eight's in the last 6 seasons.

We can't win the title every year and I don't expect to either. Winning 30+ games after the last couple of years was so awesome. The players attitudes this year and character made this team so much fun for every fan. Sure we ONLY got an elite 8, but that pales in comparision to all the other stuff mentioned. It was a fun, fun year. Great kids! I'll save the :dancingpa for tomorrow at 1:30 just in case Teague pulls a fast one.
April 22, 201016 yr What exactly is that? Meaning the bolded. Not speaking for him but constantly being in the spotlight on every media outlet was/is a big start. Being favored for the Final 4 and winning the SEC for a record amount of times in the regular season and tournament also. Beating UNC, UCONN, etc 2000 wins, etc. UK is now in the promised land.

Thanks, you saved my time and energy.
April 22, 201016 yr UK is now in the promised land. Seriously??? They are still mired in the longest Final Four drought in school history, and yet again, now have to hope that a bunch of unproven college kids can keep it together to win a bunch of games, let alone 4 straight in the premier tourney in the world. Lastly, how can you tell if UK's SOS is going to be so favored in their corner again like this year's #31 ranking it had....I feel this was the year, and they may have another, but some of you are starting to get a little over zealous like this is a Trinity / X football thing in KY, in expectations.
April 22, 201016 yr :idunno: I guess Uk still has a ways to go before they're back as one of the elite programs in the country?:idunno: No....they were elite this past season, and likely will again in 2011, that said, elite teams, IMO, can be classified as an under-achiever if they don't at least get to the Final Four....last I checked the "Promised Land" isn't the Elite Eight.
April 22, 201016 yr Any chance if he commits to UK that he would de-commit at some point? As GT stated, he has connections at the other possibilities.

Do you not foresee the future? Look at our recruiting classes? It doesn't matter what we did last season. Look at what were looking forward to the next few years. Next year we may not dominate but every year we will be close to the top and everyone knows it.

Next year we may not dominate but every year we will be close to the top and everyone knows it. That's certainly putting the cart before the horse, IMO....you have no idea what the future truly holds. Could there be allegations? Could the NBA change their stance on the one and done tactic? Could the NCAA? UK "seems" to be on solid ground now, but it is a foundation built upon un-proven 18 year olds. That seems like a high risk stock acquisition IMO.
