Dusty being Dusty (Already)

Featured Replies

I agree LRCW. He's brutal. I thought he cost them 5 games last year in the first 3 months if not more.

I obviously never paid much attention to the lineups or moves he made as a Cubs manager. What were some of the lineup decisions he made as Cubs manager that drove people crazy?

I thought you were a bigger baseball fan than that.....anyone that watches baseball knows that Dusty will overpitch at least one starter per year and cause him health problems and he will always give 500 at bats to a veteran that has demonstrated that he doesn't deserve them......usually as a leadoff hitter....plus his son sucks as a bat boy.....

Not been a fan of DB since he took over as Reds' manager. He really leaves fans shaking their heads in bewilderment at times. If the Reds win 90 this year, I will still advocate Dusty's termination. A 90 win season with Captain Baker would be a 98 win season without him. The Bengals won this year in spite of Marvin. If the Reds win, it will be in spite of Dusty. He's terrible.

Not only did Stubbs get snubbed, but Harang doesn't deserve to start today, and BP is still hitting in the 4 hole.

Neifi Perez for one.

He always seemed to have a favorite veteran or two that he plugged in the lineup ahead of a young up-and-comer .

And of course, Corey Patterson hitting leadoff in both Chicago and Cincinnati.

Dusty seems like a nice man but a very average coach. Really thought he over worked Bailey last year down the stretch.

We've heard that one before too

Yeah, but we were just bitter, disgruntled Cub fans ... we had no idea what we were talking about.

Don't forget that whites don't like to play in the sun!

Dusty sucks. Simple as that.

I have zero problem with the opening day lineup. I would like to see Stubbs out there, but I can live with Nix. :idunno:

Dusty has an affinity for outfielders with sub-.300 OBPs ...

Heck even non baseball fans have had to heard by now that Dusty over uses his starters. I was talking about his everyday lineups. I knew he had a long time fetish for Patterson, but I honestly never paid much attention to the Cubs lineups when he managed there.

Come on guys, can't we give the guy a break? Imagine having to overcome the first name Dusty growing up.

I don't think it bothered Dusty Sprigfield.

Really? You have zero problem with Dusty sitting a guy who hit .300/.354/.700 for the spring, is one of the organization's top young players, for a guy that was signed to a minor league deal, and has shown he is nothing more than a 4th or 5th outfielder. Please explain the logic in this move because I'm to stupid to figure it out.

A noticeable wave of boo's when dusty was introduced then the sound effects came in.

Stubbs looked like a major league hitter and had two good rips while Dickerson looked great in his uniform and a perfect swing that hit nothing until the ninth inning when the game was over.
