Ryle has no chance of defeating the invincible Pioneers and ending their mammoth one-game win streak. SK is better at every position than Ryle. They are also poorly coached. You left that out and I just wanted to make sure we were thorough. Last I spoke to Coach Warner, I believe he is considering forfeiting the game next year to SK. No sense in allowing his team to be embarrassed. :isurrender:

You guys have me convinced...I am on the SK bandwagon. How were we so blind to realize their dominance was here to stay....wait..I suddenly remembered Ryle beating SK 110-0 over two seasons, just a few years ago. But UKfan36, you were probably too busy playing little league football then.

 

Times have changed and yes, SK is very good. But they just graduated the best back in NKY since Shaun Alexander. You won't be the same partner...not even close.

I think some folks are going to be surprised at how much bigger Conner Hempel is next season. He's now about 210 pounds. I was told he played last year in the 175 180 range.

I think this is one of the biggest misnomers is sports. A guy gets bigger and most think he gets slower. Not necessarily the case with 16, 17 and 18 year old kids who are still physically maturing. I'm sure Hempel put it on in an appropriate manner. He like a few others over the off season will be surprising a lot of people by their increase in weight and overall size.

Being a Pioneer grad, I was very happy to see how the program has made strides; but I have been influenced heavily by the dark side (Bluebirds :ylsuper:). Having boys that will go through that system, we take it one game at a time; and many don't like our program but they respect it. I would suggest doing the same as Ryle will be a very tough opponent next year and have a whale of a team. If we know it, you better know it. Nice try coop; but we are working hard and expect to do battle in 20n10. :thumb:

Schools look for different types of QBs. Navy looks for a runner. GaTech looks for a runner. Others, USC/ND look for a big strong passer. Schools have shown in recent history that they will take a flyer on a big strong qb. 6'2 208 is NOT overly big by D1 standards.

I see your point. If he is doing it for the next level that could be beneficial depending on where he goes as you stated. I would like to see his 40 time.

Don't forget, Hempel played defense also at the end of the year. I know he was in the secondary against Highlands in the second game; I believe he played Safety. Did a nice job. So there is more returning experience there if Warner elects to play Hempel both ways.

I also like what they have in the system but don't know how much Elliott will play on D. Probably a 3rd down specialist.
