SK has a phenomenal one-game winning streak vs. Ryle. I look for that streak to end in 2010. I would think that line play and coaching will determine how far the Raiders go because they have a lot of very skilled players. If you want to beat the X, Ts and Highlands of the state, you better improve line play and game coaching strategy. I know a lot of the players from my son's past involvement and they have what it takes to have a very fine season. Good luck to the Raiders in 2010!

 

I heard they have a new o-line coach. The other coaches say he is the real deal. Its the strategy:idunno:, we will have to wait and see.

For Ryle to be #1 or #2 in northern ky they need to Simon Kenton. Ryle is loaded this year but Simon Kenton and Highlands are to!

Ryle will have their largest and deepest senior class this century...A D1 caliber quarterback, a D1 potential athlete in the backfield, and a senior laden offensive line. With that being said, I believe their goal is beyond Simon Kenton...but they are one of the many obstacles towards their ultimate goal. :thumb:

In order to improve Ryle simply needs to stay healthy and remain steadfast to their ultimate goal. The O line improvement should be something to behold, as well as the confidence that will give Hemple against teams like Highlands. At same time they will need to figure out how to deal with Highland's speed, which never seems to go away.

I wasn't to impressed with Hemple or Elliot when they played SK. I watched Nick West play a few games and thought he was a better QB. I dont see them doing anything against SK's defense they only lost 2 starters. I think Ryle will win every game but against SK, Highlands and Colerain.

Hempel is a year behind West. Make your comparison between the two after Hempel's senior season. I think you'll find the comparison scale tip in favor of Hempel.

The only reason I say that is because as the season progresses Ryle IMO will become more and more of the traditional Ryle power run game team, much like they did last year.

 

I do not think the staff is comfortable airing it out to any degree. I feel they think the risk far out ways the reward. With the backfield and OL they have who could argue with them.

 

I think Hempel would put up huge numbers in a passing offense. I do not mean a throw to the open guy offense, either. He has all the talent one could ask for that is for sure. For all the talent he has, he is an even better young man and teammate.

However, I don't know that you can necessarily put one ahead of the other SOLELY based on numbers. I think you take into account that Conner choose to build their offense almost exclusively around West. Ryle chooses to be more balanced, as they have a stronger running game. Therfore, West will certainly have better stats. That alone, however, doesn't make him the better of the two. Coach Warner will not return to the Boone County offense with a QB like Hempel. Now the year after Hempel graduates might be a completely different story . . . .

Ryles running game got shut down against SK. I seen West play as a JR and he impressed me more than Hempel.
