I have seen both Kummer and Hempel, and I believe Hempel is the better of the two.

 

However, I think Baseball may be Mr. Hempel's best sport. It sound like Mr. Hempel is going to have many options this coming year.

What about the kicking game??????? They last three kickers over the past six were very good kickers. Is there someone in place?????

Good question. I know that they have a good kicking coach but the incoming kicker will be new to varsity. They had a young man who kicked a pretty long FG (over 40 yards) at the frosh level last year so I would guess he would kick this year. Not sure of his name but we will find out soon enough. Kicking is very important for sure.

I agree, they do have a good coach. And kicking is very important. I have seen some close games won and lost due to the kicking game.

Shooter - that kicker's name is Garrett Meade. He did hit a 41-yarder against Cov Cath last year at the Frosh level.

Ryle will lose 3 or 4 games this year Highlands twice, SK and CovCath.

How is the health of the o-line? Someone told me that a few players may be dinged up a bit.

Ryle has 4 potential PLACE kickers, one at each grade level and all on the soccer team. Craig Cleveland, a senior, has the biggest leg and appears destined to handle varsity duties. The junior and soph will likely split JV duties (includes soph Mead who will probably JV punt). Matt Pederson is the freshman kicker/punter. All will have their hands full juggling the expectations of both the soccer and football programs at Ryle, which really is near unmanageable until a kid is locked in as varsity kicker. Of course with Conner Hemple as the punter, Ryle is in VERY good hands -- a position he could easily play in college for any of the teams that have offered thus far. Punter/3rd base?

Just read where Elliott will be attending the UK/L'ville game on Saturday on an unofficial visit as a guest of the Cardinals. Haven't heard alot about this kid's recruiting, but would love to see him attend an in state school. Good for him.

He will also attend games on an unofficial visit at the University of Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Kentucky and may attend a Rutgers game as an unofficial visit. Thanks for the kind words in your post.

Nothing personal but Elliott IMO is far from a D1 RB. He would make an impact in programs like Thomas More but is not athletic enough to be considered D1.

With all due respect to your eye for talent, that will be up to the D1 schools to decide. It is fantastic for the young man to get some attention, apparently from some pretty decent programs. And, as you know, he is only a junior.

 

I really hope he prints out your post, tacks it to a bulletin board in his room, and then on National Signing Day in 2012, has the last laugh!

I would have to disagree. I definitely believe he has the skill set to play in the backfield in some much bigger programs than TMC. In division 1, he might not play TB but I believe he would be one heck of a fullback. I believe he showed significant improvement this year. He is still only a Junior correct? Jury is still out, but I would not sale this boy short.

Elliott's 2 games into his junior year. Looks like he's getting bigger and faster. Yeah, I think he's going to be D1 when all's said and done.
