WVU's 3 point shooting took UK out of their defense and seemed to rattle the Cats, who also did not play with much energy until the last 3 or 4 minutes. Too many missed shots from both lines to beat a pretty good team, not sure how they stayed close really.

I've had plenty of back and forth on Huggs, but I'm really glad to see him back in the Final 4. Congrats to UK on a great season, and good luck to WVU in the Final Four...

Class move, GT. Good post all together.

Gosh, the Big East is terrible...

That's all you got?

The Cats played with an urgency at the beginning of the game and for a lot of the first half. They just seemed to lose defensive intensity for 20 minutes and then finally got that intensity back when they were down 16 points. Wall showed his stuff tonight but most of our players did not.

In all seriousness, great season for UK. Can't shoot that poorly and beat many teams (at least good teams). Free throws hurt another Calipari team...

The only way UK could lose this game was to beat themselves, and they found about a million ways to do it today. Every team I've seen in the tournament so far has had guys that can knock down open 3's, but not UK (unless it's against a 16 seed). Add unforced turnovers and missed free throws and you end up with a big L for your effort.

At least we played like crap and got beat. If we had played a good game and lost it would have bothered me more. But I won't lose any sleep tonight over this effort. We didn't deserve to win.

I genuinely enjoyed watching this UK team, and even backed off picking on the fans near as much as in the past. It was a really fun group of kids to watch and they had a great season that came up short. No shame in that even though it stings tonight...

Did Huggins outfox Calipari with the 1-3-1 zone?

They have been playing that D all year.

Its hard to win a game when the other team has a better 3pt% than you do from the foul line.:idunno:

a lot! But, you just got to feel good for Huggy Bear. He's been through a ton in the last 4-5 years. I'm going to be drinking a lot of adult beverages tonight.

Wow, where do you even start?

Poor ball handling, horrible shot selection, absolutely no defense.

WVU shooting the lights out from 3. Mazzulla looking like Jason Kidd.

WVU wanted the game more and played well. I still don't think they are better than UK or really that great (they are really good though) but all that matters is who moves on in the tourney. Congrats to WVU.

UK had a great season. It was fun to watch UK again. They were the most talented team in the country in my mind, but in the end inexperience met a team that would not be denied & was having the game of their lives. It's disappointing but how can you be mad about a team that only lost 3 games this year?

It was a good season, UK won the SEC, and were brought back to respectability. I thought at the beginning of the season they could get to the Elite Eight would be a success, and it still is. I'm disappointed, but life goes on, and hey, at least Kentucky isn't being coached by BCG..
