I agree, not in the RB discussion. My comment was to clarify that pioneerforever feels that they had the best O-Line. Then it was inappropriately stated, IMO, that Highlands had 2 all-state lineman. The attempt was made to condemn the previous statement. We all know Highlands had a very good O-Line, they do every year. But to diminish another's attempt to compliment their own line is uncalled for.

 

Maybe a thread should be started, Top RB's in NKY...not on HHS team.:thumb:

Didn't HHS have 2 all-state Kickers on their team? And two all state punters? I even heard that had an all-state Clipboard holder...He must have been really good at that

 

Not everyone on here wants to kiss highlands butt. The man was "self-proclaiming" his favorite schools O-Line as the best. There is nothing wrong with that. Then HHS posters have to say, "Oh no...what are you thinking, we are the best...you take that back!"

Pioneerforever; Next time say, We just graduated the second best O-Line in the state. Or we just graduated the second best running back in the state.

Then we would not be talking about top Rb's in NKY now would we? HHS fans know that a lot of our success is based on the line of scrimmage and the coaching they receive. Those boys are athletes and they learn technique and skill and of course do not get mentioned like the skilled positions, but we as fans know where our bread is buttered! SK had a very fine line as well last year....SKFanatic gets people in an uproar and Pioneerfever should be proud of their accomplishments last year.

 

To be fair go back and read my posts and Raiderbird posts about Ryle earlier in the couple of threads running and you will see we anticipate and respect the upcoming season. Ryle is going to be very good, but don't start attacking the HHS program and fans as arrogant. We are proud of our BIGS and they should be mentioned as well. Now if SK wants to talk about our facilities we might not have a pony in that race; but our line certainly should be mentioned as one of the best.:thumb:

Nike Combine said Miles Simpson was 4.89 at the same point in his career as the 4.81 for Travis. I would say that Travis is a very special athlete to be in that company - faster than Miles Simpson at the same point in their careers.

Running an all out 40 is a bit diffeent than what a running back usually does. It's the stop and go speed that seperates miles from a majority of the NKY backs. As a back, you barely get three yards before you have to adjust your route, there's not many opportunities to run straight up the field for 40 yards.

Good point. But, when breakaway speed comes in to play as it does on ALL long TD runs, speed is speed. I am just pointing out that Travis as a Soph was slightly faster than Miles as a Soph plus more powerful as measured by Combine stats. So, he is a special athlete that is attracting national attention. Ryle is fortunate to have a young man that also works so hard ALL the time. As to what happens in college, let's allow the young man to enjoy high school. Perhaps he will play defense in college - he would sure be a devastating tackler playing one way.

Good idea. I watch him run and there's no quit in the kid, he is definitely one of if not the strongest back around here and should get some nice offers in the future.

Yes it is! Should be loads of fun following some of these boys. Lots to be excited about in NKY.

I don't think he will be a top back in NKY but Chad Fuller should have a nice season for Holy Cross. He didn't play much RB this year but when he did he ran HARD. One thing that could hold him back is the O line, there isn't one returning starter.

As to Elliott, I guess it was only ukfan36 who was questioning his 40 time, and we all know that doesn't count because Elliott plays for Ryle and that dooms him for ukfan36. I think that was just the straw that broke the camel's back for me after all the Pike commentary in the QB thread.
