The Mountaineers simply cannot score enough to beat Kentucky, especially against KY's length!! Love Huggs and their "D", but the final chapter of the "Big Least" (and the most overrated conference in recent memory) falls Saturday night.........70--55!!

He had assists but I think alot of that came from Cornell respecting his ability to finish, which to be honest wasn't on par for him tonight. He still played a good game, but not by his standards I don't think.

 

How do you get that? He was 4-9 overall.....but 4-6 from inside the arc. He "finished" at 67% when he took the ball to the basket and shot. He had an 8/3 assist to turnover ratio. He was a point guard tonight--which was just what we needed.

I've always felt WVU was kind of overrated all season long. If the Cats come to play, make their free throws and take care of the ball they will have no problem IMO.

WVU was my pick to knock UK from the first day I saw the bracket, Truck's injury won't change my mind. Although it it could make it where UK blows them out. It will take a perfect game for WVU to win this, UK can win this playing far from perfect.

Wall was in charge. I remember 2 times that I thought he should have taken a shot on a drive instead of kicking it out. He did a great job of taking what the defense gave him. He is a great player but he isn't Superman--he can't just simply decide he's going to score 30 when the other team's defense is playing like it did tonight. In a game it is all about making the most of your chances.....UK had 22 field goals, Wall hit 4 of them and assisted on 8 of the others. So he had a hand in 12 of UK's 22 field goals. He dominated the offense for UK and added 2 steals and a block on defense. Look, he can't go for 25 points and 8 assists every game. He did a great job of taking what the defense gave him tonight. If he'd have tried to just take over he'd have looked like Bledsoe did in the first half.......

Cats have to play tough defense and figure out how to attack the 1-3-1 defense because WVU plays it a lot better than Cornell. :thumb:

I agree, that there were a couple bad decisions here and there. But overall the shot selection wasn't bad. Most of the shoots they took were set shots, I'll take that any day. You can't just drive to the basket and score on a layup everytime.

Well it's been a great year, but WVU will just be to tough and physical for the Cats.
