I wouldn't say he was young, but more of in his prime. I think I saw where someone said WR's prime was around 27-30.

I think I saw where someone said WR's prime was around 27-30. 25-29 is about the prime for everyone across the board, he is entering the back half of his prime but still in his prime I agree. With a receiver the thing is how experienced are they.. it takes a few years to learn the NFL game and he has that experience. He should be able to step right in as opposed to drafting a rook.
March 11, 201016 yr Age is relative to TO and the fact I don't think Marshall was really an option other than to drive the price down for Bryant and TO. My point is I think this is a good fit for the Bengals. I am not jumping up and down but I am optimistic.

I almost picked him up in fantasy a few times last year. He was the home run hitter for the young Freeman. Not sure what in the world Tampa is gonna do about a receiver, there in much worse position than us.
March 11, 201016 yr I didn't think they would sign him because he wanted to much. They overpaid IMO. I do think he is a better option the next few years then TO is because of his age. The star power with TO is tempting but his best years are behind him I think. I am still really mad they didn't go after Boldin. Bryant has the talent and has always had it. He's just had a really bad history...should fit right in! I do think you have to give the Bengals some credit for attempting to try to get better and fill a void. I think they were dumb and should have gone after Boldin/Marshall but this is an upgrade from last year. I think lost in the big picture is they now don't have to go desperatly after a WR in the 1st round. I think they still have to look at Chad/Bryant as the backend of their career so long term they have to look but it fills the void right now to an extent. They could use another WR but this helps them go other places in the 1st round.

This guy has been with 4 organizations in 8 years, suspended for one for substance abuse and run out of Dallas by Parcells. He has produced more than 80catches only once and had only two 1000 yard seasons in seven. This guy does not stack up to the other top receivers in football and the Bengals are locking up $7m per year on him. Do you really think that Ocho will be fine with him making so much more money than he does? He was jealous of the fact that Houshmanzadeh might do this so how will he really act now that this has happened? The only hope I have is that none of this money is guaranteed and if he is sent packing before he fulfills his contract that it won't lock the team up down the road financially.

I thought this was a good pickup and the right move. Personally, I'd have loved to see TO and Chad on the same team. I'd think those guys could get creative. If Bryant can stay healthy, I believe the Bengals got a good receiver to start opposite of Chad, and a guy who still has some years left. Perhaps TO can continue to play at a high level, but he's definitely getting up there, especially for a skill player. Nice move.

Not many seem enamored. People's preference seems to have been Marshall. They probably kicked the tires and saw it wasn't going to happen there. Bryant gives them a big physical threat. Somehting that Plamer wants. It also means they keep their first pick and they can improve at another position. Marshall is just as close to being kicked to the curb by the NFL as Bryant and he was a cancer in Denver. Any of the 3 guys mentioned to come here had "issues" to say the least. Bryant is younger than TO and doesn't seem to need the attention as much as the other two, which is good b/c Chad obviously needs all the attention. They also keep their pick. It's a good, but not great move. Marshall was the great move.
