First rounders might be a bit over rated in the NFL, but solid teams are built through the draft, not free agency.

This, IMO, would take the Bengals over the hump to title contender. Last year it seemed Carson was forcing it to Chad because he didn't trust the other receivers, and rightly so. This would stretch the field, and Benson would be even more effective. Just need a safety, and if Roy Williams can give them anything next year if he is still on the team COULD be an elite team. If they will be or not is another question, but they could be.

I'm sure the consensus would come out to be in this order.

 

1) Brandon Marshall

2) T.O.

3) Antonio Bryant

 

Go down the pecking order and if you can't get B Marsh, go on to T.O., if things don't work out go for Bryant. I have a feeling the Bengals are going the exact opposite direction with maybe a thought or two of pursuing Marshall before T.O.

 

Honestly, I'd be pleased with either Marshall or TO but I think I'd pass on Bryant. How ironic is it that all three have been malcontents? They say the Wr position is the place to play if you are a prima donna, and all three would be top picks in a prima donna draft. Myself as a Bengals fan would be willing to sell my soul for either Marshall or TO, knowing the window of opportunity can be so small in the NFL. Drafting a Wr isn't the answer for short term success, sure they could catch lightning in a bottle but the odds are against them.

With Brandon Marshall the Bengals would be a darkhorse title contender IMO. Teams are built through the draft but a final piece or two can always be added in FA or trade.

I hope Seattle gets Marshall, they have more to offer to Marshall and Denver.

As soon as I saw this earlier I got excited. I'd LOVE to see them get Marshall, despite his off the field antics last season the dude put up GREAT numbers.

I'd atleast attempt to get this done, he would be a good replacement for Chad once he begins to decline and it would mean giving up a first rounder they would most likely use on a rookie recieve anyway.

With as injury prone as Boldin is. Just would have made more sense to keep Chad, and not even have gotten Boldin if they get Marshall. With Marshall and Chad they will be very explosive. Chad while not as great as he use to be, would tear up single coverage by the other teams 2nd corner.
