February 26, 201016 yr Its been a few years since I've been to Rupp for a UK game. You forget how loud it truly is in there. There were times I couldn't hear the whistle blow. TV doesn't do it justice. Saw Magic, Big Ben, the Governor, James Lee, Kenny Walker,Tim Couch, Richie Farmer, and Mike Dunleavy.
February 26, 201016 yr Author Decent game by the Cats. I still don't like that they let teams back in games... If Georgia didn't suck so bad, we could be cheering for another Conf Championship. None the less, 27-1 feels nice. Georgia went into OT @ Vandy tonight losing 96-94. I wouldn't take them lightly.
February 26, 201016 yr Downey would be a national POY candidate on UK's team. You can't guard him. UK sold out defensively which caused him to miss shots but he often found open teammates or the help D left the offensive boards open.
February 26, 201016 yr Don't be so harsh on the Bulldogs. I dread the game at Georgia as bad as any game UK has played this year. A lot of their L's have been very close games. Ask the Commodores who just had to go to overtime to win..and that was in Nashville. Georgia worries me!!!!
February 26, 201016 yr Darius ends up with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Good game for him. I thought he played great. It seems like he really wants the starting job. I'm glad to see that he's starting to settle in to Cal's system. I think his athleticism could be a huge bonus in the tourney. You have to love the spurtability of this team. At times I was about to go crazy with lack of hustle/effort (except for Pat, Liggins, and Miller). There was too much walking around, and arguing calls. BUT, when its time to play, they play. Glad to see Pat playing like the Pat of old, and really glad to see the celbutons showing up at games. You can't tell me if your a top high school prospect watching tonight and you see Magic Johnson come out to do the Y, or Big Ben in the stands, that it wouldn't make you think what it would be like to play for Kentucky. All around good night. Way to go CATS!! I agree with every word of this.:thumb:
February 26, 201016 yr UK still has trouble going into scoring droughts. Like I said in the update thread, I think they need to feed Cousins more than ever during those times, because he's nearly unguardable one-on-one. And their shooting from behind the arc also has to improve. UK's scoring droughts are so frustrating because they're about 90% the result of poor 3 point shooting and dumb mistakes which result in turnovers. If we just take what teams give us and don't push the 3 ball this team would not have nearly as many scoring droughts.
February 26, 201016 yr The guy with Kobe in his avatar is getting on Downy for taking too many shots..............wow
February 26, 201016 yr Another game shooting under 40% he was torching us again. :idunno: Where does UK rank in 3 point attempts a game though? It does at least seem like most teams take more three's than we do. I think you can even admit that it does seem like the last few weeks we have struggled shooting the three, at least compared to earlier in the year.
February 26, 201016 yr The guy with Kobe in his avatar is getting on Downy for taking too many shots..............wow
February 26, 201016 yr Where will South Carolina be when Downey is gone? I look forward to seeing the fraud that is Horn exposed. I wouldn't be so sure about that
February 26, 201016 yr The guy with Kobe in his avatar is getting on Downy for taking too many shots..............wow I wouldn't be pumping him up in games where he is shooting under 40% nice try. I guess you think MJ was a ball hog too? How about Lebron or Durant? DWade?
February 26, 201016 yr I thought Miller played one of his best games of the year. He had energy, played with confidence, was aggressive on the offensive end and played probably his best defensive game of the year. If he brings that every night, UK gets even tougher to handle.
February 26, 201016 yr They are 2nd in the SEC in 3 point %. However, they are 9th in 3pt % in SEC games at 30.9%, and that was before going 3-11 tonight. They haven't been a good 3pt shooting team since league play began.

I agree it has been bad lately but overall they have been solid. We will see how it ends up at the end of the year.
