Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains

Featured Replies

I've never watched Survivor until the last season, when I caught the first episode with Russell being evil and burning the tribe's socks and pouring out their water. I kept watching because I wanted to see him go. But as time went on, I grew to like him for his jungle smarts (can't say street smarts when there are no streets.). I am watching this season simply because of Russell. He has continued to impress me with the way he plays the game. He certainly knows how to play people against each other to his advantage, and to hone in on people's weaknesses, especially mentally, and zap them. I'd probably hate him in real life, but in my limited experience with Survivor, he's my absolute favorite player.

I agree rockmom - Russell makes the show fun to watch. I have been a Survivor fan from day one. I also have commented that Russell is the greatest survivor of all time. But he has one flaw that works against him as the greatest ever - his style gets him to the finals but his style costs him the votes he needs to win. I was shocked at how the voting went last season when Russell lost out. But then I started thinking how his playing style turns off the other players who are on the jury. I think you can see it already happening in this season. I don't think there is any way Coach or Courtney will vote for Russell to win. Sandra will not vote for him either if she is on the jury. Once he backstabs Jerri she won't vote for him. He will antagonize the Heroes tribe members with his lies and cost himself votes there also. That is the one problem with his game and that is a big problem if you want the $1 million.

I agree. Great tv viewing. Probably wouldn't like him in real life.:D

Next week's story will come down to who the heroes believe. Will they believe Russell? Or will they believe Sandra when she tells the heroes what really has been going on in the villains tribe? I am sure Russell will spin it that Sandra is trying to trick them and don't believe her. But the fact that Russell did not vote out Parvati will be hard for Russell to explain. I can't figure out how he is going to pull that one off.

I agree. I think the one thing that Sandra should bring up is that she read the note that JT wrote to Russell and at the end of the note it said, dont let anyone else read this and to destroy it.

I didn't see Sanda reading the note or I don't remember it.

Sandra and Courtney did not see the note nor do they know that JT gave Russell an Idol.

After Colby told Russell what was going on, I don't think Russell tried his best to get back into the immunity challenge.

That is the first thing I thought when Colby told Russell that. I mean, would you? He knows that he could easily have Sandra or Courtney off if they lose and he'll get an immunity idol out of it. I wouldn't have tried hard enough to win either.

I'm with ya'll...they should have kicked Sandra. And she annoys me.

Sandra and Courtney have no idea as far as we can tell.

Whil I completely agree with you about Russell's strategy last season and how there was no way he'd win the million, I think it might actually work for this season. The players are huge Survivor fans, they love it. I would think they are more willing to vote for someone who literally outplayed, out smarted, and out lasted them. But who knows.

I love the way Russell plays the game, he definitely makes it fun to watch too and I would argue that he's probably my favorite survivor.

P.S. I've seen every episode since it came on TV lol.

Thats what JT gets and I full expect Russell to be gone next week with Sandra flipping sides.

Pretty swift of Parvati to read Amanda (who is about the worst liar in the game) to feel comfortable enough to give up both idols.

I read something today that also should give some insight into the heroes behavior as far as Russell goes. This season was filmed prior to the airing of Russell's season, so the heroes did not have the benefit of seeing Russell in action and were unaware of how manipulative he is.

The Heroes are officially toast.

Not with Sandra flipping. Colby, who has had a terrible campaign, might end up winning this thing...

We discussed this at the beginning of this thread and a benefit to Russell throughout.

My understanding that it is in the same location too. About 3 weeks after the last Survivor was finished taping.

No doubt! I think its funny she gave it to Sandra when they gotta know she is gonna turn to the Heroes side. She is on the end of the Villians side and she is gonna now work her way to the heroes side.

Who would have thought that Rubert would have been the smart one when it came to knowing about Russell?

Russell's face when Parvati pulled the second Idol was priceless! He told her, "You have some explaining to do!"

Russell is like the greatest villain ever. You hate to see him go, yet you want him to get his comeuppance.
