February 10, 201016 yr Villiage Inn Pizza in Erlanger. That building is long gone. A Skyline Chili and a haircut place stand there. Wow, I loved that place! Didn't it turn into a Waldo Peppers at one point?
February 10, 201016 yr 1969 cutting grass with rotary mower. Talk about earning your money! Oh, and trimming was with grass shears.
February 10, 201016 yr I have put up hay, weeded tobacco beds, set, striped, sprayed, topped and housed tobacco. I never did cut it, afraid I would get speared. Never got paid for it, per say, but it put food on the table and helped clothed me. All in our family had to help on the farm. I have also help butcher hogs and a beef. Remember frying sausage way in to the night and canning it. Man that was good eating. What I got paid for was doing that stuff for other people. I still had all that to do at home, too. Now you know why I went into computers.
February 10, 201016 yr Vito's fireworks. It was awesome, got lunch and dinner everyday. Could never work there I would get too happy on break and set off a cool firework in the parking lot.
February 10, 201016 yr Cutting grass, but the first real job was picking up the trash the morning after at the local drive-in theatre. I hated Disney movies:irked:
February 10, 201016 yr Author What I got paid for was doing that stuff for other people. I still had all that to do at home, too. Now you know why I went into computers. At some point during my formative years, my dad sat me down and told me about a summer job he has as an electrician's apprentice. When I asked him what that entailed, he said "lugging around as much conduit as you could possibly carry". He also said that was when he knew that he wanted a career behind a desk. He retired at 52 from a desk job; I did the same at age 53.

First job was at the age of 13 lugging squares of shingles up the ladder. Did various carpentry jobs basically as the grunt. Now I work a desk job and get winded shoveling my driveway! Thanks for the advice dad!
February 10, 201016 yr Mowing when the grass grew...pushed that lawnmower all over the neighborhood. Shoveling when the snow fell...carried that shovel all over the neighborhood.
