Interesting....Very Interesting. Conner does fall under Boone County School Systems. :idunno:

Yes Conner is a part of the Boone County school system and assuming this isn't a typo and this is in fact Conner from the Boone County school system there will be a mutiny at the Boone County Board of Ed.

The only thing I can think of is Conner may fly under the radar whereas Ockerman's head coach in Boone County high schools AD.

It was in fact Conner from the Boone County school systems.
Wayne Vs Virgie

Knox Vs South Laurel

Who did Holmes lose to and what was the score???

Kind of surprising to see AB Combs make it to the final 8 if in fact that they did. They had a nice team but not final 8 quality.

Of the teams that I saw play, Wayne County was very impressive as well as Johnson County. Hoptown looked pretty good also.

IMO, unless you have SEVERAL holdbacks it would be very difficult to compete in this tournament.

I'm very proud of the Hoptown team. They lost to Knox last night but played very well. To my knowledge, there are no holdbacks on the team. It all evens out by the time they are in high school, so I look for great things from this team down the road.:thumb:

Hoptown has 2 really nice players, #21 and #5 I think, the 2 bigger kids. The rest are not too bad either, they should be very good down the road.

I believe Holmes lost to AB Combs. Not sure about the score. I wasn't overally impressed with Holmes when I watched a little of their game on Friday night. Granted I only saw a few quarters but they did'nt shot the ball very well.

Holmes lost to AB Combs by 2 as far as not shooting well Friday they won by 25 points so someone had to be hitting some shots by the margin of victory Saturday is when they shot poorly and lost.

So the Ockerman team was already in Lexington where the weather was fine yet were not permitted to play because of poor weather in Florence. That makes sense. If Boone Co girls varsity play, in say, a Disney tourney over Christmas and there was a blizzard in NKY would they have to forfeit?

Sounds like because the coach is the AD he was probably listening to his boss and protecting his job. If anyone needs to be lambasted for this decision it should be whoever gave the order. How stupid when you have the group already down there and another school in the district playing as well.

:thumb:Thank you, they are both great kids, too. They are both young 13 year olds, so they have a lot of maturing and growing left to do. The Hoptown team also plays a lot of 6th graders, as well, including my son. Hopefully they can stay together into high school and I think they will only continue to improve.

Would really like to find out what really went down here. I talked with a parent from this team, and he told me that they (his boy) were never in Lexington, KY.

Seemed like there was a disconnect somewhere, and the Conner team playing makes this even more confusing. Very strange situation.
