Are you sure?

I only say that because after our game with them, shook the coaches hand and made a comment about the Highlands game. He replied, "Next time we play them, we will get them then."

I assumed from that comment, Highlands had beaten them once.

No Highlands lost twice to them. The last coming on a "no time left on the clock" free throw by a 6th grader to win it. Very good player. Does anybody know his name?

Mikail McClenden

McClendon.... He is the point guard on the Cincinnati Knights AAU team that won the D1 National Championship last year. The kid can definately play.

Holmes after the state tourney are now 24-2 their key players are Markel McClendon, James Bolden, Kenneth Poetter and Jason Covington. AB Combs height advantage was the difference in the game which caused some problems but the final score of that game was 38-36. Their other loss came in a regular season loss to Ockerman

How big were the boys from AB Combs? Poetter and Covington are both nice size. They are each over 6' and both very athletic.

Holmes probably should have beaten AB Combs. South Laurel destroyed Combs the next game. Combs has a great 6th grade point guard that wasn't allowed to play 7th grade. He would have made their team much better.

Braxton Beverly plays for Rw Combs, not Ab Combs. They are different schools, but both feed into Perry Central. AB Combs was a big surprise to me, they were in trouble in a game vs Williamsburg early in the tourney and Wburg's coach got 2 technicals late in the game

Thanks for the information guys.

Sounds like both Boone and Holmes have some talent coming up through the middle school ranks.
