At Trinity, Coach Beatty and the staff he has accumulated is the difference between getting to the championship game and winning the State Championship. Even though the Rocks fell short this year it may well be his best coaching job while at Trinity. Look out for the next three years the Rocks will show a dramatic difference. Has anyone heard any rumors about Trinity getting a new defencive coordinator for next year, has Terry Bean retired or is that just another rumor off of the mill? GO ROCKS

I have some information, but am not at liberty to discuss at this time. I am sure it will all be known soon enough.

I'll take Jimmy's and Joe's over X's and O's. Good coaches win with talent, bad coaches lose with talent....but nobody wins without talent.

We have beaten many teams with a lot more talent than us.

It takes great coaches and players to have a program like Trinity or St. X. Sure they have more room for error but it's not like anyone from the stands could come in and win there either. A question like this really disrespects the amount of work Trinity and St. X's players, coaches, and support staff put in IMO.

I don't know if this is breaking a rule. I doubt it, but if it is indeed, it is not intended and can be removed.

 

What kind of pay do the coaches at X and T get? Also, what are their coordinators paid?

I think that a difference in coaching is the reason that T has outperformed X in the last decade. However, looking at only numbers and draw, there shouldn't be any other team in this state that should compete with them regularly. Our continuing policies in this state are to break down school population numbers long before they get close to X or T. There is the occasional independent that is on their level due to selective admission, but there will never be a public high school in this state compete with their numbers as long as policy remains the same.

A state runner-up to X when we lost 3-0.....a losing record the year after Lampley left, though the onus on that falls on those seniors. They weren't leaders. And a regional final loss to Nelson County, I think. He did a good job, but had some health concerns, and a ton of pressure on him. You always hate to follow a legend. Wait until Cov follows Beatty. I don't envy him.
