So you are saying that the other two schools in the district that have a better football facility than Scotts do not have an advantage? Its no knock on Dixie and/or SK. Great for those schools. I would feel the same way if Scotts field was updated and their's were not. But if you don't think Scotts stadium, locker and weight room put's them at a disadvantage, then you are kidding yourself.

 

See Highlands' locker and weight room. A teams' weight room and locker room have nothing to do with how they perform on the field. Heck, Highlands turf isn't even that nice. It's one of the oldest in the state, I believe, and is really worn down.

 

And for the longest, Covcath pretty much used a garage as a weight room. Didn't seem to affect them.

I agree great facilities doesn't necessarily make great teams but open enrollment in Kenton County gives these kids a choice as to where they want to attend high school. Kid's have chosen Dixie or SK over Scott for many reasons, one of those reasons being the football facility. Hopefully soon kids won't be able to use that as one of the reason's anymore.

There's a lot of truth to this post. Dixie has always had a successful football program, but they also have had the players. Winning is a big part of getting kids to come to your school, but we all know that a new facility is a nice selling point. Scott has a great man leading their football program and I do believe it's only a matter of time before they begin to see results from the foundation he is laying. Couple the new program with a new facility and kids will come. The trick now will be keeping them in the football program and hopefully not having them come in to play as freshman, then decide not to play after that. I don't know how you do that, but if anyone can do it, Dave Campbell can. If there was anyone who I wanted my son to play for, it would be him.

I wonder when the new turf field is completed, if Holy Cross will contract to play any games there, similar to Newport and Newport Catholic?

The new field is in place and looks beautiful. Massive Eagle on the 50 yard line and SCOTT in one endzone and EAGLES in the other.

 

The Press box structure is up but it doesn't appear that much is done on the internal part of the structure.

 

The track still needs to be installed. The stands haven't begun yet, but the foundation support is in place.

 

Hopefully, everything will be ready to go for opening night, week 3 of the season vs. Bellevue on September 10th.

Good for Scott. I always think that program could be a sleeping giant, and perhaps now things are shaping up well for the Eagles.
