Playing in a higher division against better compitition will increase his chances at a scholorship. 1A & 2A kids rarely get D1 rides, because college coaches cannot guage their level of play against the speed of the game. If you want a ride to play with the big boys you need to play the big schools. And I know all you small school guys will whine about this but it is the truth, it is not a knock. There are great kids at that level and they work and play hard, this is not a shot at the kids. Just watch a top level 5A or 6A game then watch a !a or 2A game. The big schools play at a different level of speed and size. Colleges want to see their recruits dominate quality opponents at the HS level to know they can play at the next level.

 

I still find it amazing that some people still believe that just because a school is bigger means that they are better competition. The size of the school does not determine the level of competition, the programs do. A large program does not mean a better program. Small schools can and do beat large schools.

Danville always finds a way to replace some one who is missing Danville has had 3 bad years compared to Danville's standards and everyone thinks their reign is over. If people don't remember Boyle county had 3 or 4 bad years in a row and they win one state championship and everyone thinks they are back and Danville is done. Well if you all haven't realized reese was that team last year and no one will be able to replace them. There will be no state championship at Boyle this year.

We will see about that. Boyle has alot of very good talent returning. And also, no, reese was not the team. Last time I checked the Defence only allowed around 7.6 points a game last year(Best in state). They also have 7 starters returning from that Defence this year, and if you add in Will Dunn to the mix who will likely be playing safety. Thats 8 out of the 11 starters returning on Defence. Thats just my thoughts as to why Boyle County will repeat.

Who has said that Danville is done? Apparently you assume the whole Boyle County fan base. I believe I speak for the whole Boyle County fan base when I say that we all know and realize that Danville has some great years in the near future. Especially the one's who post on here. Danville has some great talent walking around them hallways. I know they'll bounce back and be in the title hunt.

With All State Lamar Dawson, and Grant Aumiller, to go along with Paul Megilligan, Barsotti, Hester, Cox, Ferrell, Cook, Tritipoe, and others Boyle would not have gotten number 6. Your statement shows how much you really know about any Championship football team. Reese was good, really good, but he alone could not have won a State Championship. Just like any other team sport that wins a Championship, it's takes more than 1 player. If there is no Championship at Boyle in 2010, I'm ok with it because I know you can't win them all. As long as Boyle will contend and be in the hunt, I'm happy.

If neither parent actually moved and he just switched which parent he was living with then I don't think he will gain eligibility. Not that I agree with it, but these situations have come up in the past.

I hope that the kids parents did some thorough investigation into this issue. If the kid were to miss his senior season, that would be a tough blow.

Almost doesn't count. As for the state title hunt this year, I believe everyone has Bell County as the favorite this year. Along with Boyle County, Lexington Catholic and Lone Oak. I think being a contender for the state championship is a realistic goal. Obviously the ultimate goal is winning the state title.

We would not make it out of the second round if Rees was not on the team, We would get beat by Bell if Rees was not on the team, We would not have won the State Championship if Rees was not on the team. Guess what? Rees was on the team Mr. AdmiralTrue.

 

False we did not give up 40 it was 39. :laugh: 10 of them coming in overtime. Boyle was the States best in scoring defensive leaders going into the playoffs. Boyle finished the year tops in 4A in Rushing Defense at 63 yards per game. Look it up these are FACTS.

 

Our quarterback went 12/19 passing for 205 yards, with 3 TD's, 0 INT's., and 2 rushing TD's. Boone finished the year ranked 6th. in 4A on passing at 107/183 with 15 TD passes. Boone's stats are FACTS not made up. He did what Boyle's coaches needed him to do. No one from Boyle has said he was All-State. Boone did more for this team, than you think he did.

 

I will not be disappointed next season. What happens...happens. Boyle will contend and that's all that matters to me. I have been on Larry's bandwagon since the first day he came to Boyle, and will remain there untill he's retired from coaching. As of matter of fact I was on it at Lincoln, Meade, and Mercer County also.
