I'm going to guess that Newton really shows improvement in the Summer and gets the job. I think that he could be a really good fit along with the other players on offense next season. I think UK needs a little bit more "spread" style stuff and if they decided to add more of it Newton would most likely have to be the man for the job. Don't know if it will happen, but I wonder about Newton, Cobb, Locke, etc. in an Oregon-Styled offense. I think it would be pretty good.

For starters Hartline is not that accurate of a passer. Secondly his experience is only because the other QB's were behind schedule. Hartline is the result of not being prepared at the QB position not because he was UK's pick at that spot.

I am more interested in seeing what changes will be made on the coaching staff...I think Ortmeyer needs to retire...I think that the scuttlebutt is Joker and Brown don't see eye to eye...and while Brown has done a better job than Archer, I hate that we line up and play man to man all over the field, yet rarely rush more than 4...

Who would be some defensive guys we should go after if Brown is relieved...I said Ruffin at TT if he isn't given the head job...?

Can't agree with you. The 16-20 type passing against South Carolina was the missing ingredient in 4 close losses this year.

The fact that Mike Hartline did not even play one play in the Music City Bowl as Morgan Newton totally struggles, tells me he is not in the plans to be a starter in his last season.

I would say the cold weather and bad knee may have been more of a factor.

Actually Cobb not touching the ball at important times was the missing ingredient in the close losses this year.

I think the coaching staff will really be looking as to who can throw the ball down the field. If Moss doesn't impress I can't see him staying at UK for his career as a backup. With that being said Newton needs to bring it in the spring and show that he can throw accurately down the field as well. With Lock and Cobb still capable of running the ball. We will have plenty of opportunities down the field next year.

I'm sorry but I believe Hartline's title as starting QB at Kentucky is over. He's a good kid and says all the right things. I think the coaching staff will go with the potential they have with Newton or Moss. Than settle for what they have with Hartline.

If he can't improve and Moss can show the ability to throw it down the field. One has to like Mossakowski's chances, if he's healthy. The biggest problem with the Kentucky offense is they can't spread the field.

UK doesn't have any confidence in Hartline and it's evident. All they allowed Hartline to do was the quick game stuff in the passing game, basically treating him like a freshman. IMO, they decided that it they were going to have to play that conservative they might as well continue to play the young guys.

I am not going to put any expectations or predictions.....All I will say is I really hope he does well. Joker is a pure Kentucky man. Played h.s. in Kentucky and played for the Wildcats. :thumb:
