Touche, lol...but seriously did this Best Ever Group of 2010 Birds beat Louisville X or Louisville Trinity as Freshmen, JV's or Varsity? It's hard say you're the "best ever" when you haven't beaten the best or even played the best.

Comical? Please fill me in, because honestly I do not know, if another team from Kentucky has been ranked nationally in the top 5. If there hasn't been, then at least confirm that you think that those ranking Highlands this year among the nation's elite have a "comically" distorted perception of Highlands. I mean, we can debate the accuracy of national rankings all day, but you at least have to admit that there are those people out there that closely follow high school football that would not consider it "comical", don't you?

 

I firmly believe that the best team ever in KY was the 2002 Trinity team, followed by the 2002 Louisville Male team.....after that....don't know.

Give Highlands 1300-1500 boys to choose from then we could play in the BCS championship game every year.

Last season our JV team traveled to Highlands for a contest that pre-game the Birds were also predicting certain victory. Sadly for them, at the conclusion they were on the short end of the final score which was around 35-14. After facing the Tigers, a lot of the Highlands fans were in awe of St. X.'s speed, depth and size. A lot of these same players were at the core of the varsity teams this season. It may behoove some to go back and re-read the BGP thread on this game. It is a lot of the same playing kids this year, so why would the results be much different....TIGERS ARE #1! :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

St. X #1 in Ky......not.. HHS #1 in Ky and #2 in the country!!!! :clap::clap: You might want to check your memory, not that many HHS starters this year played jv last..

I'm no expert, but I believe this may be a violation of BGP rule 4.

 

I think everyone needs to be mindful of the rules BGP has set up.

 

Also, I think the Trinity, Saint X and Highlands fans should not be taking shots at each other's programs. That's the kind of stupid stuff that goes on over on Yappi, and this is a better-class site than that!!

 

Trinity = 1st-class program

Saint X = 1st-class program

Highlands = 1st-class program

Hey Ox I went to this game your talking about. X was very impressive but what you have to realize is Highlands players you saw weren't the same players that played varsity the last two years. Did you see Collinsworth,Buten, Drennen,Bardo,Wells,Grubbs, Schlosser,Fennel, and Combs on offense last year?(No, because they were starters last year on varsity) It's hard to compare Jv games because Highlands plays so many underclassmen. This senior class had very few play in the game your talking about.

I understand your point, but to say that JV comparisons translate into varsity comparisons doesn't hold much water. Perhaps the Highlands coaching staff did a better job of improving the play of those HHS JV players than the St. X coaching staff did when their JV players...

After seeing both products, I think it would be a good game, but I feel X is superior....of course we'll all have our opinions, and they likely won't be changed.

Nor did X have Neal, Buehner, Sears, Jones, Karrer, Lawson, Jordan, Dorsey, Barrito or Fields. But I agree, whose better remains a matter of opinion as opposed to FACT...since the 2010 Birds and Tigers never squared up.
