I think that if Highlands played Louisville St. X's schedule this year they would have gone 15-0. If HHS had played Cincy St. X's schedule this year they would have suffered some losses... it's hard for me to guess how many, since I don't know much about Cincy St. X's opponents.

I do think its funny that you think X is best in state after beating T twice in the same year. Even T's fans said they were not going to be strong this year as they have been in the past. It's been fun but I'm done , enjoy your fantasy. :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Does Mclean Co. have a claim they are better than Paducah Tilghman this year even though PT won the championship or were they just a better team that game? What about Union Co. They beat PT in the regular season only to lose to them in the playoffs. Who is the better team?

I would agree with imsays. HHS's sophomore QB would not have been able to deal with the speed of pass rush and tight coverage he would have encountered had they played St. X at the end of the season. I do not think he could have effectively run the ball like Lawrence of SK did. I just think he would have been too young, weak and slow and could have easily been injured had he tried to run.

 

It boils down to the argument of skill vs power, and HHS IMO was the more skilled team up until Bardo was out at QB and that they likely would have been able to defeat St. X up until that time. But after Bardo was out at QB I not too sure. HHS would have needed the multi-dimensional offensive arsenal Bardo brought to the table to beat St. X, and relying heavily on the running game would not have cut it. The power and depth of St. X would have likely prevailed. Speed-wise, I found them to be quite similar.

 

Taking shots a program is one thing but calling a kid weak, slow and insinuating that if he gets hit he’s going to fall apart is quite another. You said the following when predicting the Ryle St. X game this year.

 

Ryle will have learned from their experiences with Highlands and SK, and staff experience from Papa Johns 2006 Ryle 38 St X 35.

You made this comment about a player knowing that Ryle played Highlands twice this year and that Towles quarterbacked the second game. So Towles is good enough to beat a team (Ryle) who you picked over St. X, but he's not quite good enough to beat St. X.

 

For Highlands they have already won their state championship (in Ohio) and now its just a matter of not stepping on their private parts as they cruise in for a safe landing. And at the end of the season they have the highest National ranking of any KY state team...and we're all a bit bit envious.:isurrender:

I realize you are a Ryle supporter and are probably a little upset that the to slow, to weak, to fragile sophomore QB for Highlands ran a 27 yard touchdown on ya and threw one for 54 yds. You have not only insulted a fine young man, but if what you said is true you certainly haven't put the 09 Raider defense in a very positive light.

No I think both HHS and Lou St.X would not have done better than Cincy St.X if they played their schedule. I believe the fantasy HHS, Lou. St.X game would be a close game and a coin toss could have decided the game. I do believe that HHS would have struggled with Lou. St.Xs schedule much more than their own tip toe through the tulips. If you wanna bury your head in the sand at the thought that one game decides which team is better than by all means keep the delusion alive.

Would that be the same Litkenhous ratings that do not count TWO of Highlands' wins (against Cincy Withrow and Cincy St. X) and do not count Louisville St. X's LOSS (to Cincy St. X)? Just checking...

 

Seriously though, both St. X and Highlands had outstanding years and the game would surely be a toss-up! Congrats to the Tigers on the big win Saturday!
