Rees MacShara needs to get the ball early and often. Boyle County was able to eat off some serious clock against Bell County in the 2nd half because #2 kept touching the ball. I think if Rees is able to touch the ball and wear down this Purple Flash defense then Boyle County will come home with #6. Boone needs to make some key throws but IMO he does not need to throw the ball more than 10-15 times. The Rebels bread and butter has been giving it to Rees MacShara and let him do his thing. Why stop now?

Maybe, but remember that it took Catholic 2 games to score 33 points on us and it took Catholic 1 game to hang 49 on Lone Oak.

 

Also remember it took Boyle 2 games to score 55 on them and Lone Oak just 1. I know you can compare scores and all that, but, in reality, for 3 1/2 qtrs Lone Oak dominated Lex Cath and yes, the score indicates a close game and in the end it was, but, it could have easily been 3 scores as it was an OT game. No doubt, the better team won that game. I honestly believe Lone Oak will have the best passing attack Boyle will face all year and there QB is a very good runner, as well and the Starks kid can do it all from the RB spot. The best way to beat a great run defense is to spread them out and make them have to respect the pass. Lone Oak will do that. You absolutely cannot load the box on them. Lone Oaks defense is somewhat underrated, as well. They're very quick and get from sideline to sideline very well. They're suseptible to cut backs and misdirection but have good speed in the secondary that can save some big plays. I don't think Lone Oak will shut Boyle's offense out, by any means, but, I do think they're more than capable of containing them enough to stay in the game and there offense is good enough to score points against any defense.

Like flashdaddy said we have heard this all year long. Bell had a run stopping defense and look what we did. Bell said that we could not stop there run game because they would wear us down. At the end of the game it looked like Bell was the one that was wore down. The only question is Boyles pass defense, they will have to work on it this week. Lone Oak as a good passing team and we will have to stop that. We have shown all year that we will stop the run and have done it. Good luck to both teams.:thumb:

Both teams are very high quality, and while I'm sure that Boyle's coach is very good, Jack Haskins has to be one of the best motivators and definitely one of the best high school coaches in this game, (Although he never takes any credit for himself). Boyle will have to have enough fokes on defense to keep an eye on 5 competent receivers at any one time. Lone Oak can run, but they like it in the air. (260 yards passing avg per game) I hope to be able to witness this slugfest in person, but if not, I'll be listening on the KHSAA web site. I'm pulling for Lone Oak, but I wish the best for both teams and may it be a game for the annals of championship history.

If they alternate each year we should be in black. Last year Bell was white, and Bullitt East was in red. That's only a guess as to what teams wore last year. Don't hold me to it.

Oh my gosh! If they really are, then Lone Oak is in for a very long night. I have never seen a kid in high school that can cut back multiple times in one play like Reese can. I have seen many great high school backs with lightning speed and some that can run over just about anybody but I haven't seen anyone cut back on a dime like Reese can. As far as talking about a "dime", I seen Reese rack up 80 to 90 cents on one play many times this year. :clap:
