I just realized that in this game a coach will get their first ring..Coach Haskins will have been to the carpet 3 times without a ring as a head coach...I dont know about coach French, i just know he has not won one either...And both teams are unbeaten another first..(or so to speak).

 

Larry French's only other finals appearance was in 1991 with Meade County. They lost (ironically) to Bell County in the AAA title tilt that year. :thumb:

 

If memory serves didn't Meade soon after go to AAAA and have some quality teams that often fell short ot AAAA powers like Trinity? :idunno:

Lone Oak fans, you may not have the tradition of some of the other programs across the state, but, you always praise your opponent and give credit where credit is due, even when, at 14-0, your team doesnt always get the credit it deserves. You could thump your chest and dish the other teams, but, that's not your style. I call it a quiet confidence.

 

You Boyle fans have alot of hardware and could very well act like some of these other fan bases with alot of tradition, but, you guys have always shown respect and give great insight, good and bad. Very knowledgeable fans.

 

Both of you are undefeated and have had great seasons and noone to this point have found a way to beat you, so, it's understandable to be confident. Who's been ranked where is irrelevent at this point as it'll take it's due course in a couple of days.

 

Good luck to both class programs. Will definately be one of the weekends best to see.

Will not be close if Boyle come ready to play. LO had a hard time beating LexCath @ LO and Boyle had very little trouble with LexCath. The LO defense will have a hard time slowing down Boyle.

Yes they had a few teams make it to the top 5 in the old 4A alignment, but ran into Michael Bush and Co. of Male. A lot of talent in 4A around those times when you talk about Brohm (UofL and NFL), Bush (UofL and NFL), Woodson (UK and NFL), Barclay (Wake Forest and NFL), a Safety from Owensboro (Clemson and NFL), Powers (IU), Spencer (UofL) and those are just skilled kids off the top of my head. Not all were drafted but the ones listed as NFL did serve on NFL teams.

I will say this........For the past 4 weeks BGP posters have been overwhelmingly wrong when it came to LO predictions....I hope the trend continues..I really dont think there is any D in 4A that can hold the flash under 30 on a normal weather night(not a monsoon) and the predictions that Boyle will hold them to 7 are just uneducated propoganda....Boyle will get their share but i am going on record and saying if Boyle holds us to 14 pts i will walk all the way back to Paducah...Boyle has never faced the kind of offense that the Flash will bring...I really think it will be somewhere around 38-28.. Lone oak holds on to claim their first state title...I have seen Boyle play and of course Lone Oak so that is a pretty educated guess.........
