I've watched Larry French for many, many moons and perhaps his top quality is that he does not allow his teams to get overconfident or take anyone lightly. I simply cannot pull against him in this one.

 

And then he'll want to go fishing after winning the title.

 

:thumb: As much as I want Boyle to win as an alum and for these kids, I most of all want Larry French to win a state title as a head coach. He deserves that honor and with all that he has done through the years for programs, it's the one honor to elude him.

What time and day is the game? Probably will make the drive to watch this game.

Just telling you one thing, i've not witnessed a high school teams defense with as much speed to get to the ball in a long time. Thats my observation as a fan. If you are going to beat this bunch, i'd pass, pass and probably pass on defense also:D if possible.

LOne Oak will have to start making mistakes. They usually don't. Looper has thrown but one interception all year, and they rarely fumble. They have no less than five competent receivers on the field on offense, and Matt Starks is nearly unstoppable running the ball. Defensively, they adjust well, and will wear you down. Good luck if they ever get a 2 TD lead on you. Boyle will have to play an error-free game to win this one. Marion County had virtually no passing attack. Hard to play catch up when all you've got is run, and you're playing against a great run defense. If Boyle has a balanced attack, I think the game's a toss up. All I can say to Boyle, is, don't get overconfident. Lone Oak is MUCH better than what you think.

 

Like flashdaddy said we have heard this all year long. Bell had a run stopping defense and look what we did. Bell said that we could not stop there run game because they would wear us down. At the end of the game it looked like Bell was the one that was wore down. The only question is Boyles pass defense, they will have to work on it this week. Lone Oak as a good passing team and we will have to stop that. We have shown all year that we will stop the run and have done it. Good luck to both teams.:thumb:

In a high scoring game, i would go with Lone Oak, but if it is a low scoring game I would choose Boyle. I think it will come down to Boyle's defense. They are very good on defense and I would take a good defense over a good offense any day.

LO-34 Boyle Co-28.... Caught the 2nd half of the LO/ MC after the Mayfield/Beechwood game. IMO, LO is alot better than the '07 team. I don't think Boyle can stop their passing game and their defense is gonna give them trouble. Good luck, LO i'm pulling for ya.

 

I can guarantee you LO won't score 34 points. Our defense only gives up 7 points a game, including playoff games.

If you go to LO's IHigh page you'll see video from two early season games. The LexCath game was actually a bit onesided for 3+ quarters until LexCath burned the LO secondary a few times. Raglin was able to run some on the Flash defense, mainly in the 1st half. McShara will probably get his share of good runs but LO is capable of some big stops.

That is impressive but the thing that concerns me most is that Marion county played both Bell and Lone Oak. They lost to Bell 26-21. They lost to Lone Oak 45-28. Big "D" better be ready.Go Rebels!

Maybe, but remember that it took Catholic 2 games to score 33 points on us and it took Catholic 1 game to hang 49 on Lone Oak.
