November 28, 200916 yr Why? Miss St is a dissapointment, but UK is unbeaten, Tennessee is playing well and only has a loss by 1 to a top 6 Purdue team, and Florida beat a title favorite. The bottom barrel teams are exactly that. UK is unbeaten, but haven't exactly been impressive. UT struggled to beat a bad Depaul team, loss to Purdue and beat a bunch of cupcakes. UF has been the surprise of the league. Vandy and Ole Miss have potential, but both already have a double-digit losses. USC was blown out by Miami, and the rest of league isn't very good at all at this point. UK is the only real contender I see in the league (and they are going to be handful by years end), just my opinion. I think they get more than 3 bids this year, but still not overly impressed.
November 28, 200916 yr Nice W for Florida. Michigan State has been less than impressive so far this season, and they were flirting with getting beat against Gonzaga and to an extent Toledo. Izzo needs to get that team going if they are going to make a run at a Big 11 title...

I agree. UK being a top ranked team again is great for the SEC, but I have seen nothing so far this year to make me believe that the SEC will be that much better overall than they have been the past 2 or 3 years. That being said, Florida's win over Michigan State tonight is impressive.
November 28, 200916 yr It seems UF has some of their best seasons when their flying under the radar... And they usually laid some of their worst eggs when expectations were high (the notable exception being the second national title). It's definitely been a ride for Donovan in Gainesville.
November 28, 200916 yr Just to be fair. East Tennessee State 94 Arkansas 85 Richmond 63 Mississippi State 62 The ugly head was reared on these two as well.
November 28, 200916 yr Florida shoots 41% for the game, 21% from 3, gets outrebounded by 18 and wins. Wow. UF hit 22 of 25 free throws and MSU had 22 turns.
November 28, 200916 yr What surprised me was that MSU came in as only a 3' point favorite. They were a top tier team playing an unranked team, right?? I think Vegas knew something we all didn't.
November 28, 200916 yr Miss St lost to Richmond today.......hahahahaha That would be the ugly head of the Atlantic 10. And if you've ever watched more than five minutes of it, you know just how ugly it is.

USC also has given South Florida its only loss of the season. Vandy does not have a double digit loss and has a victory over Arizona. Ole Miss lost to the #4 team in the country by 12. UT lost to the #6 team by one and has one win that is closer than it should have been. That writes them off?

They aren't that great of a conference but they are better than last year. They stack up pretty well w/ the B10 IMO and the B10 was considered the best or second best in the country. The BE is off the charts good right now. Last year we were told the BE was the best ever even though the results didn't seem to back that up. This year they are really playing well.

I still think they will be a Final 4 team when its all said and done.
November 28, 200916 yr Author Also, how in the world was this game not televised? After all the bad games that have been on they miss this one?
November 28, 200916 yr Last year we were told the BE was the best ever even though the results didn't seem to back that up. Huh?????

November 29, 200916 yr One thing about Izzo is that he almost always has his team playing well in March... Agree with this post early in the year. Big win for the Gators but Izzo one of the best coaches at getting his teams playing their best in March. By the way I am Gator fan so good win for them.
