Obviously teams like Highlands, Fort Campbell, and Boyle were each expected to have outstanding years and compete for a state championship. However, there are a number of undefeated teams who where maybe not expected to be sitting at 10-0 going into the playoffs. Of these, who does everyone think is the most underrated team and/or has a good shot at winning a state title this year?

Murray (2A)

Prestonsburg (2A)

Somerset (3A)

Mason County (3A)

Allen County-Scottsville (4A)

Lawrence County (4A)

Lone Oak (4A)

John Hardin (5A)

Lone Oak and Allen County-Scottsville are both two clubs that are legit top 5 teams in 4A, imo. Lone Oak made a splash by defeating Lexington Catholic earlier this season, but they have faded away in many people's minds because their lack of dominance. ACS has flown under the radar all year. They should match-up round 3 in what I feel will be a classic battle.

Murray.

I said John Hardin, but it's just a perception thing in the eyes of the general public. They're #2 in a class where Highlands is the clear #1, so they're not underrated that way, but they seem so far below the radar it's crazy.

John Hardin is my surprise based on statistics alone, they have some staggering defensive stats this season.

John Hardin is a good team with a glowing 10-0 record, but I think everyone would have a better feel for them if their regular season schedule were tougher. JH could be very underrated or vastly overrated. I don't think anyone will know until starting the 3rd round of the playoffs.

For me it is a tough choice. I think Lone Oak or ACS might be the most underrated because most think that Boyle and Bell are the class of 4A and LO often gets left out of the discussion, even after defeating Lexington Catholic. Murray and Prestonsburg will have to get by Fort Campbell and NCC/DeSales/Corbin respectively. ACS would have to defeat Lone Oak, which if that was to happen, might make ACS the most underrated. Lawrence County is on the same side of the bracket as Boyle, Bell, Holmes, and Lexington Catholic, so I’m not very confident they will make past the third/fourth round. Somerset and Mason will have to beat Belfry. John Hardin is certainly overshadowed by Highlands and the two could very well meet in BG, but they were a semi-finalist last year and would probably be a huge underdog to Highlands.

You never hear talk about Lone Oak and Murray. I wouldn't doubt one of these teams sneak into the finals. But at the same time I don't know how you sneak in when you are 10-0!!:sssh:

I don't know who these teams play to get to the finals.

Lone Oak and Murray would have to play Allen County-Scottsville (10-0) and Fort Campbell (10-0), respectively, in route to Bowling Green.

I'd say Somerset right now. Mason County's QB is out for the Postseason and thus right now it seems to be between Central and Somerset for the 3A state title, that is unless Mason's backup QB can match the previous ones play.

Can I change my answer on Murray!!:D

I would have to say Lawrence County, they have not been ranked most of the season, and barely got in at number 10 in the BGP this week, and you don't hear much talk about them. I hear plenty of talk about the other teams listed. I don't know how far Lawrence will get, but I have to say they are the most underrated team.

I think he can, Coach B will have Mason Co ready.

Mason Co I would say, they lost their start QB but Coach B will have Mason Co ready. They still have a STUD running back in 10th Grader Josh Harris and the starting QB now is a great player in Colt Fearis, plus the Mason Co D is playing alot better. People are pushing Mason Co to the side but watch out.
