Are Ram, SidelineDoc, and The Cerebral Assassin out celebrating? I expected their analysis by now.

I'm here, it takes a little while for me to get home after games.

 

Both teams came to play, after the first half it looked as who ever had the ball last would win, but Raceland came out and took control in the secon half. Great adjustments by the coaching staff at the half.

 

Russell looked good in the first half and seemed to find some stuff that worked, but seldom went back to those plays. Still a great game by Russell and I wish them luck in the playoffs.

 

I know we had some players that stepped up big, but I have to say the Oline and Dline deserve a lot of credit, they played inspired and controlled the center of the field. Rodney Salyers had many pancakes, including two on the same player on the same play, great effort Rodney. Cody Grant had his best game of the season, he controlled the line. Great effort by the line.

 

Farley passed better then he had all season, stepped into his throws more and delivered the heat. Jeremy Barr played a great game, great effort on his part, stepped up big on offense and defense.

 

Johnny Shearer three catches for over one hundred yards and two TD's, great senior night for Johnny.

 

Just an all around great team effort for Raceland, I hope it carries over to the playoffs.

Everyone did great in this game. But I wanna give some credit to some of the guys who dont get it to often. And that goes to the "big hogs" upfront. They played with great discipline tonight. They didn't bite the fake handoffs and stayed at home on those dangerous counter plays. There were a few times where I didn't even know which player had the ball. But the dline sure did. Not only was this the best game for the players. But for the coaches as well:thumb: These coaches really put the boys in the position to win the game tonight! Another big thing was ZERO turnovers for Raceland and minimal penalties as well! Disciplined, Hardhitting, determined football was played tonight and it showed.

Also a big congratulations goes out to Jones from Russell for bieng tonights Devil MVP. He had some very impressive runs. There were times when I started clapping because I thought we got him the backfield only to be quickly stopped by him running 10 yards downfield. Russells QB played pretty well too!

:thumb: Good post RF04, I am glad you helped me out on posting tonight as well. I have had a very bad day in dealing with this dang disease and was unable to post alot (like in a update thread). I am not meaning to go on about it, just a :thumb: to you. "Once a Ram, Always a Ram" . (we are on different sides in college football, you still follow that team up north :irked: but......Rams stick together :clap:.)

 

This night is all about the kids, the players on this team, the coaches and as always.....Ram Pride!!

Congrats again to the Ram seniors on your night......... also the senior cheerleaders and band members along with their parents who also make countless sacrifices and give all the help through the years.

Jeremy Barr is a beast. He was all over the field tonight on both sides of the ball. Wish he had been healthy all year!

 

Raceland played a really complete game tonight. They squib kicked all night (kicked it deep once...learned from their mistake), their defense out muscled Russell's o-line, their receivers got open, they had the right plays called at the right time and they converted 3rd downs when they needed to convert 3rd downs. Hats off to the coaching staff at Raceland- they had the winning game plan. You can tell TJ Maynard WANTS this game every season. He is intense every game, but he turns it up a notch for LCA and Russell. lol!

 

Raceland's orange crush D was in full on attack mode. Farley was making good throws. It was just one of those games where everything comes together. The one nitpick I had was Farley has got to learn to throw the ball away. He took a couple of sacks he didn't have to take, but he made-up for it in the long run. Might not get that chance against an LCA.

 

Great win for the Rams. It's a shame the threat of weather kept so many away. Russell fans can't complain about room...there were still seats on their side of the field! There was room on Raceland's side as well. For those of us who were willing to go we got a great game.

Great post, although I do have to disagree with one thing. If you think that there weren't very many people at the game tonight, then you weren't out there helping to park cars!! I have never seen the lot fill up so quickly. We had to park fans at the new high school, and then put them at the JFL field!!

 

Great game by the Rams tonight! I am so glad to see them coming together as a cohesive unit on both sides of the ball. The Boys really showed me something tonight.

 

And to Russell, Good game by you all as well. You played tough and with a lot of heart. Good luck from here on out.

Russell usually doesn’t give up 328 yards passing (stat from the Independent). Good job Rams! Don't forget to give some love for that O-line.

 

 

 

I listened to this game on the radio. Russell's radio team is very good. They are much, much better than the crew they used to have. They did a good job with the play-by-play and were great at giving scores from other local games of interest. This is one of the best announcing crews I've heard in a while. :thumb:

Great, great win for Raceland. I know the community is abuzz right now and they should be. It sounds like the Rams have found their stride.

 

This certainly was a team win but I am in amazement at the game Farley and Barr had…and yes, I know their success was made possible by those under publicized linemen...great job fellas!

Tyler Farley was fantastic last night. But let's give some credit up front. He had all day to throw the ball. Fantastic protection on virtually every play. The backside screen that went for a TD at the end of the 2nd quarter was a great call. Then a huge kickoff return by Nathan Taylor for Russell got them inside the Raceland 30 to score as time ran out in the half. But Farley and crew simply owned the 2nd half.

Ram & Sideline Doc & myself always celebrate after a win like last night. Had to recover from the post celebration before i posted my thoughts (LOL).

 

I thought this was the first complete game that the Rams have played all season. No turnovers was a big key in the victory, because we haven't had that all season, and it cost us two games (Greenup & Fleming).

 

I felt like we could win if the offense was consistent (which hadn't happened all year) because the defense has been the mainstay for this team. Everyone stepped up on offense; the line gave Farley time to throw, and the receivers made some great catches and ran well after the catch. Jeremy (Barr) and Johnny (Shearer) made some nice catches in space and ran well after the catch. Downfield blocking was good as well. The defense stepped up as usual and made the stops on Russell when it mattered. Sometimes they bent a little, but never broke. Also, Barr on the defensive side was a boost as well, and the interception was huge late in the game. Of course some credit goes to the Russell offense because they have some nice runners in Jones and Rice.

 

I know it's an overused phrase, but like Coach Hoof said, it was truly a total team effort. The coaching staff once again put together a quality game plan from top to bottom, and the kids stepped up. This coaching staff works well together, and it shows up on game night. This was a big win for us heading into the off week and the playoffs.

 

On a sidenote, some of the credit should go to Tyler Boyles, who was at the game last night. His insight and vision from his playing days was instramental in helping Farley see the big picture .

 

Now the Rams have to stay focused in the bye week and build off of this win heading into the playoffs against Lynn Camp. If the RAMS can play "complete" games like this in the playoffs, I think they'll be back in Lexington for the Regional final.

 

Also, good luck to Russell in the playoffs.

I don't know if you were there 2 years ago but there was literally nowhere to sit. People where packed in like sardines. By 6:45 the stadium was literally packed with people. The visitors side was overflowing and people were parking at our church on Caroline Road and getting shuttled down to the stadium. My in-laws live on Brown St and I always park at their house. 2 years ago there were cars all the way down to the park.

 

I'm dogging anyone, I think people thought it was going to rain and didn't go. But there were plenty of empty seats around me. Maybe I just smelled! :ohbrother:

 

Went and got some donuts this morning at Daves and was talking to a former Ram I went to school with who was there and we both had big smiles on our faces. Not only did the Rams win, we were getting Dave's! :ylsuper:
