Scott does have the best big guy in NKY, however he may play up and that will hurt. I like Scott's depth, a lot.

That's a big statement. Barth from Campbell Co is a load with great hands. He was hard to stop 1 on 1 last year. Woodland's big man last year definitely didn't stop him???

Nick Jackson is a solid post player when you can keep him in the game, either due to fouls or attitude. Barth may be the best on the block right now, although Saunders is the best all around.

Engleman has a ton of upside. Suprised to hear that he is at Holmes now, although I shouldn't be. With Engleman gone and Saunders playing up, I reserve the right to change my vote.

The bigs from last years Camp Ernst team should develop nicely over the season.

I would agree Englemon has upside and Saunders is better than Englemon and Barth, but the best all around freshman in NKY is McGovney.

Nick Jackson didn't come from Woodland..

Nick Jackson.

He has improved a lot but Nate Grosser (NCC) is the best big in Nky at 9th grade level. He faced Jackson many times in AAU and dominated. Nate is a rebounding machine who can run like a deer, has great hands (soccer goalie on NCC varsity), and he also can knock down the 12 foot Jumper if need be. The kid is extremely bright also and could be at Cov Latin right now.

Barth from CC is a load on the block but not as versatile as Grosser or Englemon. He does have a sweet turnaround J though. Why isn't that kid playing football?

Twenhofel's big men last year didn't stop him. Both sat on the bench in foul trouble in both games that were played.

Saunders may be the best that plays freshman ball. But, I would put Monroe, McClendon and Mcgovney ahead of him overall.

He played and then had an injury early in the season

Mason Monroe may be the most under-rated freshman guard in the area. He already has a season of varsity basketball under his belt, where he acquitted himself quite nicely. Becasue he plays at Pendleton County which is outside of Boone, Campbell, Kenton he doesn't get the ink/exposure that many of the other promising freshmen get.

Saunders is going to be a nice player. Very strong, coachable, and effective, yet still very raw at this point. He is a tremendous addition to an already strong sophomore corp at Brossart. He will not be playing freshman ball.

McGovney dominated the freshmen ranks last year as an 8th Grader and plays for the best of the best in AAU. It will interesting to see if he can transition into an impact varsity player in his first year at that level. Playing alongside Brady Jolly will be a huge plus. He will be fun to watch.

Saunders won't be seeing any freshmen time.

Hey good call..

Jackson was from Summit View,. He lost his head last year and it dampered his play but that wont happen in the F/JV/V level. The kid wants it more than any other kid of the court and I haven't seen him lately but as long as he keeps growing will be a monster.
