October 21, 200916 yr ^ Coming from a woman you should listen, because face it none of us males really understand women.
October 21, 200916 yr In my experience that means that there is another guy she wants to date but that hurts worse than saying I need a break. I'd tell him to move on and see what else is out there and if she figures it out before he finds someone else then good for them, if not and he finds someone else well that's just her problem.
October 21, 200916 yr At least they're not married. This same thing happened to me and I was actually married. Needless to say, I'm not anymore.
October 21, 200916 yr My advice: 1. Give her some space. If she can't be with him now, then she won't want to be with him if he's annoying the crap out of her. With some space she will either realize that she is better off with him or that she is happy without him. No point in getting back together if they are going to continue to be unhappy. Also, crawling and begging his way back sets up a pattern of her leading a one-sided relationship, which never works. 2. Tell your friend to go have some fun. Who knows, he may find a girl who suits him better when he isn't looking. You can't search for a relationship or try to fix one that doesn't work, IMO. 3. IF they always fight and don't get along, he's better off trying to move on, IMO. What makes him happy is probably the security that a relationship brings, and not the actual relationship that he is in. 4. Tell him to remain level headed. The one of the worst feelings in the world is to see the person you still have feeling for, being with someone else. It sucks, but there is no way around it. If they officially end it, seeing her with someone else will be good in the long run, IMO. It's all down-hill from there. 5. If they take a break, DO NOT, and I mean DO NOT tell him to just start playing the field and just going after every woman that walks his direction. Two reasons for that really: a. Trying to make someone jealous is stupid and pointless. Nothing good comes out of it. b. Filling the void of a relationship with unimportant women really just masks the pain of not being with the one you have deep feeling for. Sure he'll feel better for a few days or weeks, but it prolongs the amount of time it takes to truly get over someone. Pretty much I'd say whatever the common answers people give him, just discard them. Most people agonize way to long over relationships because they have techniques that just put their pain aside instead of dealing with it. Anyone who has been in a long relationship is going to be hurt when its over. Don't try to hide it, but don't obsess over it either. If your friend needs to talk about it for a bit, let him. But don't let it consume his conversations either though. Like Usher said, "Just let it burn". Just my two cents. I don't know if he'll find this helpful, but honestly things will work out for him. He really needs to give it some space, and let it work itself out. Most likely, from the info you've given, I'd have to agree with some on here that the relationship is probably over, but it's always been my personal belief that you really don't know your significant other or the strength of your relationship until you've had some time away from eatch other. -Peace, Cats3X I am impressed. I never thought a Miami Hurricanes fan could be that smart and good with advice. :scared: I think you hit a lot of great points for them. :thumb:
October 21, 200916 yr Move on... Takes some of us longer than others. But FINALLY I realized that! More women out there!

Actually, most of the situations on here, I've been through, except for ones involving married people of course. I also have alot of my friends ask me for advice on this kind of stuff, so I have some experience. Thanks for the compliments, but let's go easy on the SMART. I think my current government professor would disagree.
October 22, 200916 yr Author So, an update on the relationship of my friend. He talked with her the day before yesterday, and there were a lot of emotions displayed, and they were still not back together. Then, yesterday, something strange happened and his ex had a sudden change of heart and they agreed to get back together and work things out. So, they are currently back together and working through things to figure out what went wrong so that it wouldn't happen again. He is very happy. What great advice you all give!

She wanted to keep him around and talk to him still, while seeing if things could work out with someone else. So in case it didn't work, then she could just go back to him. So I think a lot of it has to do with it just not working out with the other guy. Hopefully though she got that out of her system, and now things work out with them two.
October 23, 200916 yr So yeah this girl I'm trying to talk to now, most of her friends say she is great, she is a sweatheart or angel they say. I may have found a good one!
