I said it when he committed and got blasted for it. He does not have the speed or quickness to be a running qb in the SEC.

Until Fidler proves that he's considerably better than Newton, if I'm the coach Newton plays the majority of the snaps when its not the wildcat.

Clyde's post got me to thinking, and I tend to agree with him on this one.

There seems to be a pretty big differnce in how folks view Newton's skill set. I've thrown a bunch of names up in a poll, perhaps a mod can add some more or remove some as we go.

Who do you see Morgan being similar to?

In barely 3 quarters of play it's a bit early for me to form an opinion.

 It's never to early to speculate. Isn't that what we do best?

There seems to be much varied perception coming in, just curious.

I would go with Shane Boyd with the choices you listed.

I have always thought Donkvan Mcnabb when thinking about Morgan.

I see a big strong-armed passer that played like a true frosh.

I say Stafford.

None of the above. His still trying to find himself. Kind of reminds me of a young Culpepper a little bit. Really strong arm, good feet but not extremely elite quickness, not as fat though.

 Newton is not even fat at all. But that did strike me as funny.

I find him very similar to Tebow. He has an SEC type physique and is a horse from what I've seen. He is very similar to Tebow's size and he has a much stronger arm than him as well. In terms of speed they are about the same as well. However its hard to make such an analogy at this time as we just haven't seen him enough to make an accurate depiction of the guy.

At first look he makes me think Juice Williams/Shane Boyd.

-Good but not great speed. Explosive first step.

-Strong arm, but thrower not a passer.

-Physically he's a beast.

:thumb: That's exactly the caliber of QB he reminds me of, hopefully the college version of Culpepper. He's big, strong, gotta big arm, and can move. Definately the best comparison I've seen so far, imo.

That's what I was thinking. Culpepper is bigger, and Morgan's a little faster, but they have are in a similar mold, IMO. If his arm ends up being as good as Dante's that would be great.

None of the above. Newton might make a good Tight end. Let's hope the QB from Texas is a much better passer.
