The order of blame for the blocked kicks today goes as follows IMO:

 

Line for allowing Rogers to get penetration

Graham for kicking the ball so low

St Louis

 

The snaps IMO did not cause the kicks to be blocked. Its fair to be concerned about their lack of accuracy but they didn't cause the problems today.

 

His snaps on the punts are fine.

When your only job is long snapper, you really do need to be perfect. And when you're as far away from perfect as St Louis is, you need to be replaced. Starts messing with the mind of the kicker when he has to worry about more than just the kick, but whether the ball will be snapped accurately and put down timely.

 

I'd love to see Scott start getting more carries. He looked explosive on a few runs today.

Everyone owes Bob an apology , play of the game 4th and 10 and he called a QB keeper for a 1st down. :scared::eek::eyeonyou:

This win makes me just that much more pumped for the rest of the season. This team is finally winning games they have no business winning. That's what good teams do. They play like crap sometimes, but still put themselves in positions to win. This is 2 straight games that they've done this and came out with a win. The schedule plays out from here on out that 7 of the final 12 should be wins....10-6 should get them into the post-season.

 

Sorry guys but that play definitely was not called. Palmer and Lewis basically stated that in their post game quotes to. I am surprised that you all honestly believe that. I don't think any OC would ever call a draw for Palmer, especially that far away. Palmer just finally took advantage of the Browns playing two deep and man on the outside. He really could have took off like that a few times in the game.

I wouldn't put anything past Bob.

I saw in the update thread people talking about how people can't be happy with a win like this over the Browns, and Mal talking about how bad this team is because its even close. However you all do remember this is the NFL, and even a horrible Bengals team last year gave good teams good games. They gave the Giants a great game at the beginning of the year last year, and tied with the Eagles who ended up in the NFC Championship game. I mean even bad teams can keep it close sometimes. Its the mark of a good team though to be able to find away to win it, even when they are not playing their best and the Bengals did that today. WHO DEY!

Haha that is true. I really think this team and offense would be better if he was not the one calling the plays. It was good to see him pull out that good old shovel pass today, that still didn't work as usual. He really loves that play.

I also seen people getting all over Palmer in the update thread. However did you all notice that the receivers just weren't really getting open today at all. Palmer did make a stupid decision on the interception, even though I was glad to see him take a shot down field. He also underthrew Henry on the one pass. Other than that he played pretty good, and has had a good season. I mean even against Denver apparently we were going against one of the best defenses in the NFL, even though we didn't know it at the time. Palmer has led the team down the field for scores when it really matters the most in all 4 games this year, he has put this team in position to win every game so far.

Not the best showing by the defense, but not bad either. I mean they were on the field a lot from the 2nd to the 4th quarter and were put in bad positions because of Cribbs returns. In overtime they just played awesome, and kept giving our offense a chance. When you have a offense that goes 3 and out like 8 straight times like our offense did today, and then also giving up big returns. Only giving up 20 points is not such a bad thing at all.

Chad came back and ate dinner downtown and told ppl on twitter and he said he would pay for it. 20 people or so showed up and he paid the $250+ bill.

I promise that the option of running was mentioned before that play started whether they will admit it or not.

I'm not buying it. Teams in the NFL do not botch PAT's and Field Goals very often.

 

The Bengals have botched at least 4 this season, all due to Brad St. Louis.

 

St. Louis has been on the team for almost 8 seasons. He should be cut.

 

Not St. Louis' fault. Both the blocked kicks got placed, the kicks were just low. Huber should have caught the ball against Denver, maybe he can't get it down, but it's not a 40 yard loss. The only truly bad snap St. Louis have had was against Pittsburgh.

 

As you pointed out, St. Louis has been on the team longer than either the kicker or the holder. He's been doing this a long time, I doubt he suddenly forgot how to snap a ball.

 

I know Huber is a hometown boy, but to me look at the new guy in the equation. New holder, more problems with the kicking game than before, logic says maybe look at a new holder.:idunno:

I agree with that. We've discussed various and assundry stats, and I will always maintain that the most important stats are the W's and L's. 3-1 no matter how they got there speaks for itself.:thumb:
