October 5, 200916 yr I'm sure that the coaches in the pressbox told Carson to watch for it, but the fact remains that it wasn't a called QB draw. I don't think anyone said that it was called a QB draw, heck I'd be surprised if the Bengals even had that in their playbook.

I think it was called for sure. I could be wrong. As soon as he went back he started back up field he left very little time for the play to develop. Like I said I could be wrong but I think it was called like that. HT, I feel like the Carson run was called as well. The Bengals have botched more FG/PAT attempts than any team in football from high school up. Let's just go for two each time? The Carson run was most definitely called. This win makes me just that much more pumped for the rest of the season. This team is finally winning games they have no business winning. That's what good teams do. They play like crap sometimes, but still put themselves in positions to win. This is 2 straight games that they've done this and came out with a win. The schedule plays out from here on out that 7 of the final 12 should be wins....10-6 should get them into the post-season.

I haven't seen a replay at all, but going by what I saw, I think the play was called to create space in the middle for him and it was discussed as an option. He sure didn't look at throwing for very long before deciding to take off. Being a QB that NEVER runs, that tells me it was possible it was called. I would like to think our coaching staff saw that and exploited it rather than it being just luck.

If you watch the replay you will see the back release after initially staying in for protection, and then run about a 5 yard route, and turn around and look for a possible dump off. The back is not looking down field to block. He is looking for a pass from Carson. I'm sure Carson was aware, or made aware that he could possibly run for a first down, but to say it was a called play simply isn't accurate.
