Or, two, the Bengals played bad and still found a way to get a win on the road. Considering that the Bengals offense is still trying to find some consistency, and the team as a whole is still in the process of developing chemistry and an identity, I'll take the latter. If I were a Bengals fan, I'd be a little frustrated that they didn't play better, but ultimately, they won the game. They aren't to the point where you can pencil in wins, and for them to get one on the road in a week that they played poorly is huge, IMO. Carson continues to deliver in the clutch and I think those performances are going to give him and the team confidence. I think you can play looser when you know your QB can make the plays at the end to win games.

I still believe that they discussed running the ball before the play was called and is there any way to really challenge that? The probably did mention that to him, and from the sounds of their quotes they mentioned it to him a few times in the game. It was just from the way you all were saying it, made it sound like you all thought it was a called run. While it definitely was a pass play. If you watch the replay he really does drop back like seven yards before he even decides to go. I mean if their is a receiver open I am sure he passes the ball still and doesn't run it. It was a smart play to take what the Browns gave him, because they dropped a lot of people back and turned their backs to the QB.

The one thing that really sticks out to me is that at the end of these games, they all have one thing in common. Chris Henry is usually always on the field for the two minute drives it seems like. That is also when the Bengals are at its best on offense. So you would think they would start playing Chris Henry more, I know at least I know I hope they do. Yeah Coles and Caldwell are nice, but Henry just has away to make plays. They need to find away to rotate all three guys, because Coles and Caldwell both can play the slot. So they need to get Henry on the field more, and I think then this offense would start to be more consistent and also make the running game even better than it already is.
October 5, 200916 yr Look, the bottom line is this. Without Palmer this team is in the tank. No way that they are gonna call a QB draw there regardless of the situation. He's the franchise, and that's not debatable. He lobbied to Marvin on the sideline not to kick it, and Marvin placed the game in his veteran QB's hands. He took what was available to him and it was the most important play of the game. But in no shape or form would anyone with a brain (insert favorite Jim Schue slam here) call the draw in that situation. Pressure came from the edges and left a huge void in the middle and CP took what they gave him. He was on the verge of finishing in a tie with the divisional cellar dwellers. No more, No Les. Wait, did I say Les? Where is Les anyway?

Palmer passes up running the ball when it is open very often, but looked for it immediately on that play. So if you are looking for a "I was wrong, you were right" from me, you aren't going to find it. If one of you are Marvin, Bob or Carson... then PM me and tell me I was wrong and I will admit it then.

October 5, 200916 yr I don't see how you can see he looked for it immediately. If he did, then he would have took off even sooner than waiting all the way till he got back to his seven step drop. I mean a seven step drop is a really big drop back, so he did have time to look over the field and see if anyone was open during that drop back still. No one is saying that they didn't mention it to him, they mentioned it to him all game from the sounds of it. The only reason why you have had people saying stuff about it, because you all at first was saying it was a called play. When it was not it was a pass play, and as I said before I am sure if a receiver was open he would have still thrown the ball instead. Umm ok... which doesn't touch the point of why doesn't he look to run in other situations. He has 7 step drops all the time and never runs. After the fact, I said it was a pass play, but running it was in Palmer's head from the start. I'm not changing my stance and can't believe this argument has gone this far :ohbrother:
