Notre Dame 37 Washington 30

Featured Replies

Notre Dame's Schedule:

Wins:

Nevada -> 1-3 with their only win over UNLV.

Michigan State -> 2-3 with their only wins over Montana State & a mediocre Michigan team.

@ Purdue -> 1 - 4 with their only win over Toledo. Losses to Northern Illinois & Northwestern.

Washington -> 2-3 with wins over Idaho & USC. They didn't win a game last year.

Loss:

@ Michigan -> 4-1 with wins over Eastern & Western Michigan. Very close game with Indiana (who barely beat EKU & Western Michigan).

That sure screams "beat USC to me"...

As much as the offense has progressed, I have been most disappointed defensively with the Irish. I still feel like they get manhandled up front.

In looking at the rest of the schedule, I am seeing 2-3 more losses including their next game against USC.

I think that's pretty fair.

Honestly, ND could win the rest of their games. There is not a game on their schedule, with the exception of USC, that I think they're a heavy underdog. And even USC is way down this year. Still very talented, but way down.

Jimmy has 44 touchdowns in his career and Bradford threw 50 last year.

That's why I added the "this year" part. Clausen's arm is better than Bradfords. Now he doesn't have to throw from his back, he's actually able to make decisions. Bradford will struggle this year. He would have anyway w/ a new offensive line and the loss of his best returning weapon.

Jevan Snead & Locker.

Jevan Snead???? The most overhyped QB in the country??? The same one who looked like he was going to cry against South Carolina??? That Jevan Snead? Seriously, you have to be kidding.

I'd take Tebow in any type of offense that you named. Right or wrong, the kid is a champion and is that much better than any other quarterback in college right now. I agree that Claussen will make the best pro.

I find it entertaining that beating Washington, at home, in overtime, brings ND fans this much joy. Obviously, Washington beat USC a few weeks ago, but this is not a great win. Washington didn't win a game last year.

ND is a top 50 team, but not top 25. They're the beneficiary of a relatively weak schedule.

Your point about the W over UW is why I asked the question about close Ws being enough.

Sure Clausen has looked better this year, but he is not better than Bradford. Not yet at least.

Yup, Jevan Snead. I didn't say he was better than Claussen, I just pointed out who Ole Miss' QB is.

South Carolina would be the 2nd best team that ND plays all year. But then again, when you get to pick your own schedule, why not fill it with cupcakes?

I think he was saying "arm-strength" wise, his arm is better than Bradfords. I think I'll agree with that.

Yeah, and JaMarcus Russell might have the strongest arm in the NFL.....What does that prove?

Jimmy has 44 touchdowns in his career and Bradford threw 50 last year.

I think Tim Couch, and many before and since him, have proved that the number of touchdowns thrown in college does little to indicate the quality of quarterback at the next level.

Washington beat USC and gave LSU all they could handle. I don't know who said it was a great win, but it is a good win. Also Notre Dame is banged up. I can promise you ND doesn't kick 5 field goals if Floyd is in the game.

I don't think the weak schedule part is true. I read before the year ND was ranked 36th in SOS. Florida was like two infront of them and Texas was behind them.

My opinion is that I would take Clausen over any other QB in the nation right now. No need to hate on ND just because I think that.

I agree with those 3. I would put Clausen in the 2nd tier with the likes of the kids from Ole Miss and Washington.

I agree that the three you mentioned are above the other three though. However the funny thing is that I think all three those QB's will end up being better pro's than the top three in college right now.
