August 29, 200917 yr Didn't the two kids that were responsible for the Columbine massacre joke about killing classmates? How do we know, in the case of killing people, it's a joke or it's serious?

September 29, 200916 yr There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that is out of line for a joke. You'll be shocked but I lean towards all being fair game when it comes to jokes. I may not LIKE the joke but I'm not comfortable saying one group or person is OK for jokes but not others. This would fall into the "I don't LIKE the joke" category. :thumb: Everyone has a different sense of humor... Joke, of course, is the key word. Too bad we now live in a society that has turned being offended into a national sport. If I hadn't made my opinion on this mater abundantly clear in the past, allow me to do so now: I agree with all of the above. I have a Jewish boss who regularly jokes with me regarding Jewish and Catholic stereotypes. A truly tolerant society is one in which you can joke about anything and people don't jump all over you saying that others should be offended. I don't need support groups, awareness causes, Fox, CBS, the ACLU, the NAACP, the NRA, the NEA, the DEA, the ATF, the FBI, the CIA, the WWE, UFC, the NFL or anyone else to tell me what I need to think. :madman: I have much more colorful language for this subject which alas I cannot post here. Those of you who have met me can imagine the invective I have for the oversensitive, and those of you haven't can as well. Edited September 29, 200916 yr by Birdsfan Rule 2
September 29, 200916 yr I don't think I'd like to read/hear a joke about someone shooting me. I made a joke in Sunday School class and it didn't go well, I had to tell them it was a joke. Jokes are funny, people dying...well I don't know.
September 29, 200916 yr There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that is out of line for a joke. All jokes are fair game. So if you guys had a loved one who died some horrible death, then it wouldn't be inappropriate for others to make jokes about their death?
