NKY Middle School Football League

Featured Replies

It might be interesting, but would be somewhat difficult for the Fort Thomas Junior Football League. The only way they could compete was if it was an all-star game that included only the 8th graders that played in the league. The individual teams would not be successful at all because of the rules requiring a minimum playing time for everyone.

Are Ft. Thomas' teams broken into individual grade levels, I take it?

They are not divided into individual grade levels, but there are four teams of

7th and 8th graders with somewhere between 20 and 25 on a team. Therefore in order to be competitive with another league they would have to have an all-star team.

I agree that this kid could be considered possibly one of the best middle schoolers in NKY and is very fast and aggressive.

Name is Jalen Hayes and if he works like he is capable of working, he will be in discussion for one of the greats(est) of running backs to come through Highlands. Scary isn't it..... I coached against him this year and I am currently helping coach him for the League game and this kid is a Freak.....Come out Monday night @ 7:00p.m. and watch one of the better backs in NKY next year at the Freshman level.:thumb:

There is an all-star game set up to place between NKYFL versus BCPWFL at the senior level only. It will be on Saturday Nov 14th 6pm at Simon kenton High school. You will see some serious talent on that field.

Was Jalen Hayes #5 for Newport last year as a first year player?

Hayes has played with the Newport Fire Fighters since he was about 5 years old. His family recently moved to the Ft Thomas area over the summer. He is a hard runner and hits like a truck. Hayes will be a force to deal with in high school.

Any idea on the rosters? Will the teams actually practice?

YES JAYEN HAYES WAS #5 FOR NFF IN 2008:thumb:

NKYFL Superbowl @ Dixie

PeeWee Division - Spartans defeated the Red Devils in OT

Midget Division - Red Devils defeated the Spartans

Junior Division - Spartans defeated the Erlanger Lions

Senior Divison - Red Devils 26 - Bengal Tigers 14

Zach Harris was easily the MVP of the game scoring 3 TD's. Thomas Wrobleski also added a rushing TD. Garrett Geiman had 2 interceptions in the game to bring his career total Super Bowl interceptions to 4 (1 as a midget, 1 as a junior and 2 as a senior).

Not sure how, but Jonathan Scruggs was named the MVP of the NKYFL. The kid is easily the fastest kid in the league, I'm not sure that equates to league MVP. Oh well, Scruggs got the MVP, Harris took home the gold ball. GO DEVILS!

Congrats on the big victory. Glad to see the Red Devil Midgets win as one of my Johnson Grade School Hoopsters is on that team and a nice athlete.

How many teams are in each division? Spartans and Red Devils each had teams in 3 of the 4 championships. Pretty impressive for those programs!

I drove by Dixie this weekend and it looked like there was a large crowd cheering for these future stars.

Typically 10 teams in each division - except for Pee Wee, I think there's 6 or 7 and Seniors only had 9 this year.

The stands were loaded with people but not jam packed. Definitely a lot of people watching all 4 games!
