The Season kicked off last night. Two games were played at Campbell County Middle School:

Brossart 22-19 over Sharp (Pendleton). Good win for the Brossart Colts in their first game ever at the middle school level.

Campbell County 28-0 over Summit View. Camels controlled the game throughout. QB Holbrook and RB Rice scored two of the touchdowns.

There were also two games played at Twenhofel last night.

Holmes vs CovCath#1 and Twenhofel vs Woodland.

There is an 8th grade league that the following schools participate in:

Large School Division: Campbell County, Holmes, Cov Cath #1, Summit View, Turkeyfoot, Twenhofel, Woodland

Small School Division: Sharp, Holy Cross, Newport Catholic, Brossart, Cov Cath #2, Walton-Verona, Newport

I really like that there are two divisions with two championships this year. The top 4 from each make the playoffs and the championship games are on Oct. 17th at Dixie.

For schools with large numbers (Campbell, Twenhofel, Turkeyfoot, Summit View), there is also a seperate 7th grade schedule.

Does Bracken county participate in any of these leagues?

I know that Bracken plays the Campbell County 7th grade team next Tuesday at CCMS.

"B" / JV middle school games are usually played on Wednesdays. These are 6th graders and maybe a younger 7th grader. The 7/8 grade or VARSITY plays on saturdays. This past week was an exception with several VARSITY playing on Thursday.

Did TFMS play a combined team of 7th and 8th graders? Then the old 5th quarter with the 6 graders? I was at the game and that's what it looked like.

Looked like they lost 8-6. CovCath scored late but missed the extra point attempt.

Turkeyfoots extra point hits the upright and clearly falls back.

No scoring untill the last two minutes.

7th grades Colonels played very good defense.
