NKY Middle School Football League

I heard that the CCMS 8th grade Camels ran into the Cov Cath 8th grade team and the Nick Pope Express. Camels lost 24 - 6 at CCMS.

My Freshman pick game of the year for 2010 will be CCHS vs. CovCath (if they play). CCHS will feature Zach Harris along with a couple of other running mates from the Campbell Co Red Devils adding to the current squad of CCMS 8th grade team. CovCath will undoubtedly be loaded with Pope leading the way. Two players to watch in the future:thumb:

CovCath #1 24 Campbell County 6

CovCath #1 looked impressive as they also had two TD's called back.

Just wondering why Campbell County MS didn't play #27 the young man with the golden shoes more on "O"?

The play of the game (IMO) was the CovCath outside DB #1 making a open field tackle on a player much, much bigger than him, because if the young man doesn't make this one v one tackle, the Camels runner is gone. I hope somebody got a picture of the tackle because the young man's tackle could be made into a training film

CovCath #2 beat Newport and the CovCath RB #8 sure impressed me a ton. The little seventh grader looks like a water bug as he cuts and moves. Also the CovCath seventh grade QB impressed me with his passes!

#27 for the Camels is Romello Rice. He is the most athletic player on the team.

As for the game, I was very impressed with the Colonels. I expect the seeds to hold and these two will meet in the championship on 10/17.

No Highlands, Beechwood, and no Boone County schools?:confused:Didn't see any Lloyd either now that I think about it. What's the story on all of that?

Highlands does not have a middle school team. Rather, they have the Ft Thomas Jr Football league that fields 6 (or so) teams in the 7th & 8th grade division. They play amongst themselves rather than in the Middle School League.

Boone County has their own league as well fielding teams that play against each other rather than form teams through the middle schools. Beechwood doesn't have a middle school team either and their kids play primarily with the Spartans or Raiders in the NKJFL (not great with acronyms).

Highlands used to run the league. They won it like 3 years in a row when we were in JR. High. Now they keep it amongst themselves. Speaking of which, I watched the green team play on Saturday and they have a running back that will have Highlands fans smiling for the next 4 years. He looks exactly like an 8th grade Miles Simpson. Tall, graceful, and will hit you.

I believe you may be referring to a transfer from Newport. He is a good kid and plays hard so Highlands will prosper from another transfer from Newport.

Do you blame him????? :idunno::idunno: Wouldn't you want to get a top notch education along with the chance to prosper on the football field?

Shocking!! Another transfer to the birds. Why don't he transfer to a 6A school and play big boy ball? One more question, no disrepect but why doesn't HHS play up to 6A? If they are that good what would it hurt? State championships would be alot harder to come by. Would it help them with there "national rankings"? :idunno:
