MountainThunder Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 http://www.postchronicle.com/news/business/article_212247136.shtml I remember the days when EKU was on everyone's top 5-10 list. Now, they can't even make the top 20. The nation's top party schools, according to Princeton Review's 2009 survey of 122,000 students. 1. Penn State University, State College, Pa. 2. University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla. 3. University of Mississippi, Oxford, Miss. 4. University of Georgia, Athens, Ga. 5. Ohio University, Athens, Ohio 6. West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va. 7. University of Texas, Austin, Texas 8. University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wis. 9. Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla. 10. University of California-Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, Calif. 11. University of Colorado, Boulder, Colo. 12. University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa 13. Union College, Schenectady, N.Y. 14. Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. 15. DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind. 16. University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tenn. 17. Sewanee: The University of the South, Sewanee, Tenn. 18. University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N.D. 19. Tulane University, New Orleans, La. 20. Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz.
Getslow Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I've been to Halloween at OU before. Absolutely nutty. No. 5 is well deserved.
gchs_uk9 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I remember the days when EKU was on everyone's top 5-10 list. Now, they can't even make the top 20. It seems like Eastern has a great number of commuters and then with opening up classes in different parts of the state, that has to sort of quell their numbers. Also, Richmond is now much stricter on alcohol/age violations, to the point that nearly everything is closed!
cooperstown Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 University of North Dakota? Not a school - or place - that immediately pops into my mind when I think of a party-type atmosphere.
CatsCatsCats Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 University of North Dakota? Not a school - or place - that immediately pops into my mind when I think of a party-type atmosphere. What else would there be to do?
spindoc Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 How do you get a job like that? Rating party schools? Does he file taxes as "party school rater"?
MJAlltheWay24 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I will be heading to both Indiana University and University of Wisconsin-Madison throughout the year.
justme2018 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I've been to Halloween at OU before. Absolutely nutty. No. 5 is well deserved. Experienced it for 5 years, after the 1st two, I couldn't stand the crowds.
Cosmo Kramer Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I've been to several tailgate parties in Morgantown. If the rest of the week is anything close to football game days, I can see why they are number 6 on the list.
covcathftball Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I'm always bitter at this list because the size of the school plays a big role. If UD was the size of most of these schools there isn't a doubt in my mind that it would make the list.
PutMeInCoach Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 University of North Dakota? Not a school - or place - that immediately pops into my mind when I think of a party-type atmosphere. But Tulane and Ohio U do?
