July 24, 200917 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4352034 "The anticipation and speculation can stop. Roger Goodell has reached a decision on Michael Vick, NFL sources told ESPN. Sources told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio and Chris Mortensen that Michael Vick is expected to be conditionally reinstated to the NFL some time next week. League sources told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio and Chris Mortensen Thursday that sometime next week Goodell is expected to announce a conditional reinstatement of Vick, which would allow Vick to go to training camp if he signed with a team but that could also include a four-game suspension. " If he is suspended after serving jail time, I disagree with it.
July 24, 200917 yr If he is suspended after serving jail time, I disagree with it. I do too. He has served enough. Let him play......if someone signs him.
July 24, 200917 yr He has had to sit out more than someone that killed a person. what he did was wrong but he served his time.
July 24, 200917 yr I wish Goodell would go ahead and come out and say for sure whether or not he is going to go through with the 4 game suspension on Vick. Whether he does or doesn't hand out the suspension can factor a lot into who would take the chance in signing Mike.
July 24, 200917 yr I too think the media blew this one up bad. To me what Stallworth did was a lot worse. I agree that he shouldn't be suspended anymore. The only legit argument that I've heard IMO is that it wasn't so much about the dogs but running the illegal gambling ring that was the more serious crime.

Gambling doesn't seem that bad to me compared to what Stallworth or Leonard Little did.
July 24, 200917 yr Gambling ring or killing someone? Gambling doesn't seem that bad to me compared to what Stallworth or Leonard Little did. I agree with you.
July 24, 200917 yr He has served his time...Let him play and let him put this behind him. If Goodell makes him sit four games then it will just be even something more for the media to talk about.
July 24, 200917 yr He has paid his debt to society but if I signed him it would be with strict conditions including financially supporting causes that help society and his behavior. Strikes against the condition and I would have the opportunity to get out of the contract with no financial strikes against the team. Not sure any guarantee money would be there. But he has spent his time and deserves another shot. Somebody like Stallworth that killed someone and seems to have bought his way out of it, I would not sign even if it meant a trip to the Super Bowl.

But he has spent his time and deserves another shot. I agree. I would like to see no suspension, but Vick must contribute a full four games salary to the humane society (or a similar organization) and then a certain percentage of his salary for the remainder of the year. After this year, he would be in the clear with no more financial contributions. Certainly that proposal isn't likely (I'm not even sure if it's legal), but I think it would be a good gesture.
July 24, 200917 yr I think you have to suspend him, the precedent has been set in the past. Plus it ain't going to hurt Vick, he'll need that time to prepare
July 24, 200917 yr I think you have to suspend him, the precedent has been set in the past. Plus it ain't going to hurt Vick, he'll need that time to prepare It's going to hurt him from the standpoint that a team may not want to sign him as a result.
July 24, 200917 yr I think you have to suspend him, the precedent has been set in the past. Plus it ain't going to hurt Vick, he'll need that time to prepare He basically has been suspended already. He has not played in 2 years.
