July 28, 200917 yr He just done real time in a prison. I think the commissioner is letting his power go to his head. Vick has paid the time for his crime and the commish needs to back off a little, IMO. :thumb:
July 28, 200917 yr I can't believe people are actually upset with the commissioner because he's suspending a convicted felon for 4 games. Honestly, think about that. And for all those that are saying, "He served his time"...EXACTLY! He did something wrong to serve a significant amount of time and it can't go unpunished. He's lucky he didn't get a lifetime ban.

I totally disagree.
July 28, 200917 yr Obviously... What Vick was involved in was very wrong. He committed the crime and he has served his time. The commissioner is over-stepping his bounds by adding to the punishment.
July 28, 200917 yr The NFLPA wants to discuss Roger Goodell's power: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4360661

So you think the NFL should allow all felons to come back into the league without punishment because "he has served his time"? WOW!
July 28, 200917 yr So you think the NFL should allow all felons to come back into the league without punishment because "he has served his time"? WOW! No, I think the NFL should allow Michael Vick to come back into the league without punishtment.
July 28, 200917 yr No, I think the NFL should allow Michael Vick to come back into the league without punishtment. Um, then that would be yes. Is he a convicted felon? Yes Do you want him back in the league unpunished? Yes Again, you're setting a precedence by letting this idiot in without punishment for convicting a felony.

Yes Again, you're setting a precedence by letting this idiot in without punishment for convicting a felony. He just spent a couple of years in federal prison and lost all his money. How much more punishment does he need?
July 28, 200917 yr He just spent a couple of years in federal prison and lost all his money. How much more punishment does he need? Whose fault is that? If he was going into the corporate world he wouldn't even get a chance after checking that box. He should thank the Commish. And after week 5 he'll make more money this year than me.
July 28, 200917 yr Six games is harsh, but if you're going to suspend PacMan and Plax and they haven't even been convicted of a crime, so if you're going to suspend them, Vick should be as well.
July 28, 200917 yr Again he has already served a 32 game suspension. Anything else at this point is cosmetic.

PacMan had a lot of arrest and problems that didn't get him suspended before though. Plax clearly broke the law and is going to get convicted. Neither will spend 2 years in prison, though Plax may get 1. A suspension after that is a joke. I think Vick has suffered enough. If you don't trust him don't let him back in. To me 6 games might as well be the entire season.

To me 6 games might as well be the entire season. Suffered? He committed a crime and served his punishment, and he probably had it pretty good in there. And it's not like he's completely broke, remember the 24/7 coverage of Vick coming home when he went on house arrest? That house looked quite nice, and if I remember correctly he didn't pull up in a 91 Cutlass Ciera that had no muffler, he pulled up in a Range Rover. So he still has some money left, he served his time, that doesn't mean he suffered. You can't expect for Goodell-who I don't like and thinks he has too much authority-to let Mike play and have all the priviliges that every other NFL player does the minute he got out. Give him the suspension, see how he does, if he really has walked the straight and narrow then fine let him back in, but if he continues to be a problem and runs around with the same crowd, then we'll see. As I said, I personally wouldn't haven't suspended him, but if you look at how Goodell has handled players misconduct in the past, you can't give him [Vick] a pass because he served time, the bottom line is he broke the law served time for it and when he goes back to his job, he's going to face repurcussions. It happens at many other jobs, heck some fire you and it's hard to find a place that will hire you.
