June 23, 200917 yr Author My KFB agent, when I told her that GEICO had quoted me a lower rate, made no attempt to keep my business (I've NEVER had a claim or a ticket...I have done nothing but send them money for the last 13 years, so I have no idea why). She just said that when I decided, they would give me a refund on what I have paid in advance for. I thought that they might try to do something for me, but she actually sounded a little ticked when I mentioned Geico.
June 23, 200917 yr Author We have Geico. Love them. They are very generous to military members. I'm always a fan of those that take care of our military. :thumb:
June 23, 200917 yr Our son has e-insurance. He has had a claim and they were very good to work with. Best price, coverage by far that he could find for his age and single.
June 23, 200917 yr One note Progressive told me not too long ago after 3 years of being a member, your first accident is forgiven.

June 24, 200917 yr See if your employer has any group discounts. My former employer had one with a company and it was way less than GEICO or any other that I checked.
June 24, 200917 yr I was with State Farm for right at 30 years. I have 4 kids driving, my home, and 3 rental houses. I was forced to look elsewhere after I got a quote for my son with State Farm. I got a great price with ("Kemper, Unitrin") that saved me over $1,000 dollars a year over State Farm + I got a Million Dollar umbrella policy to boot. I have had 2 claims in the past 3 years and they where great. Handled everyting in a timely fashion. My suggestion is to write all your information on a spreedsheet, make copies and get quotes from everyone in your area. Shop around!:thumb:
June 28, 200917 yr I have State Farm... They gave me the lowest rate BY FAR. I agree. I just switched to them from Progressive.
June 28, 200917 yr In Eastern Kentucky, I haven't found anything cheaper than Nationwide for myself...
June 28, 200917 yr Author I use Geico and like it. I think as a teacher, you also get a discount since apparently, the company originally started out as a governmental employees insurance company. I get an additional discount for being a member of NSTA too, so that may be of interest as well. I've had two claims through Geico in the five or so years I've been with them. One for a broken window. I had no deductible for that. The glass company worked directly through Geico, so there was no extra hassle on my part. Also, more recently, I had a small accident during an ice storm. Again, Geico handled everything quickly. I'd definitely recommend them. Out of gosh....tons...or quotes from insurance companies, Geico gave me the best deal. Maybe it is because I'm a teacher....not sure, but they now have my business!
June 28, 200917 yr We have a house and 3 vehicles insured with State Farm and haven't had a problem for many years. KFB was alot more expensive when we got a quote for one driver in our family who thought they might qualify for cheaper insurance through them. (No tickets/no accident's).
June 28, 200917 yr Since I'm a State Farm person, I have State Farm... My thoughts are that it is fine with whomever you have as long as you have the coverage you need and understand what you pay for? Just make sure you aren't cutting corners. Also, make sure you have someone that you can talk with or build a relationship with, unless the rates are just out of this world!
