Honestly I don't think Mason ever had a shot. Not that he didn't deserve it because he would have definitely been my choice. But I think they interviewed him to satisfy the assistants and the players and then pulled the rug out from under him.

 

I don't think Yates was going to let anyone from Jaggers staff lead the program. I would bet Mason ends up at either Boyle or Danville.

Is Mason close to retiring from his teaching job?

I believe he is in his early to mid 30's. So I don't think he will be retiring anytime soon.

Weaver met with The Mercer team last night and they lifted and went outside and ran some pass routes. He met with the coaches and he met with the Mercer team again this morning and talked about the practice schedule.How in the world could he do this after meeting with both teams and tell one group he was leaving and meet his new team and than back out in 24 hrs.The Board of Education at Mercer paid for his motel bill so his family could stay over night last night in Harrodsburg.

If he goes back now that would be shady behavior. 2 programs in 1 off season stuck like that. Should hurt his reputation for future jobs.

That's really unfortunate and I hate that for everyone involved in the Mercer County program.

Unfortunately, this type of thing happens when people are rushed into making big decisions like this. The blame lies with Jaggers for putting Mercer in this situation.

Didn't Weaver also interview and get offered the Harrison Co. job? I believe he said that in his press conference. My only question is what in the heck are these other candidates thinking. Clevenger and Brown are head coaches do they leave their program during the dead period? Don't know Thomas so I don't know where he stands. Then there is Mason, you are assistant HC/D Coor and you get passed over if they offer do you accept?
