Those are statistical analysis but at least with Clevenger there is a reason his record was only 9-11 over two years. I think he was 2-9 his first season and considering the mess that Henderson was in emotionally, no one would have done any better. You can almost call that season a wash.

 

I completely agree. I didnt know what info people were wanting. Didn't both play at Danville, maybe even on the same teams and also coach at Cumberland College w/one another on the defensive side?

 

I agree also with what you said about Clevenger and what he walked into at Henderson. Both men have seemed to have done a more than fine job at both places under the circumstances.

 

I've lived east of I-75 the most of my life and Brown did as well as anybody has at Rowan County. It's traditionally been a very tough place to win.

Clevenger is the best man for the job. I was also impressed with him when he was at Lincoln County. Would love to get him back as a defensive coach.

From what I was told, Mason was looking to go to Boyle if Jaggers stayed. He is very interested in the HC job at Mercer, has applied, and is one of the final candidates. Don't take it as gospel, but that's what I heard from someone close to what's going on.

Mason and Jaggers are good friends. Jaggers hired Mason after he was let go by Nelson County. They are very loyall to one another.Mason lives in Danville and his wife works at Danville High school and his kids go to school there. You were told wrong.

Rumor has Clevinger interested in the job. In my opinion he is a far more proven coach than Brown.

 

Why? I have seen how he has changed things at Rowan Co. in just one year, and he was hired late for the job. A great young coach that a program would be proud to have.

That is a very good question I would assume that most of the assistants are in Mason's corner. If they were to hire outside and some of the assistants leave it could put the new coach in a real disadvantage this late in the game.

 

The other question that hasn't been talked about much is the position that Clevenger, Brown or Weaver would put their program in if they were to leave. Tough situation all the way around.

It's always tough on staff's until someone hires from within...that will stop the coaching carousel for the year.
