When all these young woman and girls who are big Grey's Anatomy and Twilight fans start having babies there will be alot of Izzys and Bellas running around. I cannot lie, I am actually a Grey's fan. That's not why I like the name though. I like classic names that have stood the test of time. Not a big fan of trendy names.
May 10, 200917 yr I like trying to use family names. It can be fun going back thru the family trees and putting names together. Also , I think alot has to do with your last name. Make sure the name goes well with your last name and is easy and nice sounding when you same them together.
May 10, 200917 yr Congrats on the news.....My little girl is named Karcyn (pronounced like Carson), we've found a very few others spelled this way. I liked the name and my wife decided on this spelling. The only problem is anytime we get anything with her name on it people try to "correct" our spelling and make it Karyn or Karcy. In fact the spelling of her name confuses people so much we make a joke of it and sometimes call her Kracyn (cracken). Mistakes aside we love this name.
May 10, 200917 yr You never know what a daughter's last name will be if they get married :thumb:. Try to call your baby by the first name. (We did name our boxer Belle, in French it means beautiful.)
May 11, 200917 yr Make sure her initials don't spell something negative. Example, if your last name is Smith don't name her Abigail Susan.
May 11, 200917 yr Author Thanks for all the suggestions. We are currently leaning towards Addison Elizabeth, and our last name is Davis, so it seems to go together okay. We do have some other names on our "list", so it's possible that we may look at her and decide on something else... Again, thanks for all the ideas.
May 11, 200917 yr Having 4 sons I had a bunch of girl names not used. I always wanted a double Initial as for Davis something with a D. We name the first son Taylor not knowing 15 years later it would be a girls name also. My last initial is W and I wanted Whitney Olive and she would have been nicknamed WOW, oh well. I also wanted Dixie Belle but got shotdown very quick. I also like Bible names Ruth/Mary/Sarah/Ester/Leah I liked Wireman post, and that is a first and probaby last. Let us know.
May 11, 200917 yr Congratulations! Be very careful that you avoid stripper names, lest you unwittingly choose your child's career destiny for them. Speaking of which, "Destiny" is a good one to avoid. So Bambi is out? :sssh:
