May 6, 200917 yr Does a whopping 31 at-bats in 26 games constitute a "hot hand?" In just those 31 at bats he has shown more than Dickerson has all year. So yeah compared to Dickerson he has a hot bat right now. With how the Reds have struggled with offense this year, it would make sense to play a guy who RIGHT NOW might help out the offense more. Not that hard of a concept to grasp.

Not that hard of a concept to grasp.I'm not advocating either Dickerson or Nix over the other. But I'm guessing that the Reds, as an organization, has decided that Dickerson warrants a job as part of a left-field platoon, and they're choosing not to react (or overreact) to one month and give the job to someone else. Part of that is based on what he did in the final two months last year, which was/is better than anything Nix has done in the majors.
