Track The Reds (Week 5)

Or they can bring up Castillo and leave Hairston in the OF, where he should be. I'm not really on the Gomes bandwagon.

Maybe Hairston playing at SS lights a fire under him? He was brilliant there last year and was great again tonight.

I'm dreaming.

I don't think they will touch Valaika, he isn't even hitting his weight down there.

Gomes did have a HR and 4 RBI's tonight, I just don't think things team is very good with Hairston at SS.

This team needs defense at short, which is Janish. Maybe Janish can come in late in the game for defense.

Looking very good. Need a big home stand.

A 5-0 home stand would be very big,but I would take 4-1 at this point.

Volquez is at 104 pitches. Why send him back out with a 7-0 lead?

Because they used everyone in the pen the night before. This start by Volquez took a lot of pressure off those guys.

Masset and Herrera pitched only 1/3 of an inning, Rhodes 2/3 of an inning, and Weathers only an inning. It worked out because Volquez had to throw only 6 pitches in the 8th, but the bullpen was still in pretty decent shape.

The Reds as a staff lead the majors in era with a 3.61 notch.

Yes they do, as I pointed out in the other thread in this forum. :D

Or even threads.

I'm not sure why he is hitting McDonald 6th, or even why McDonald is in the lineup. Just gives a little more credence to my pm doesn't it Clyde, GT?

Taveras 8

Hairston 5

Votto 3

Phillips 4

Bruce 9

McDonald 7

Hanigan 2

Janish 6

Arroyo 1

While I don't fully buy your theory, I do have to scratch my head. I can't imagine what's going through Nix's head when he says a hack like McDonald playing in front of him.
