Track The Reds (Week 5)

Nix with another pinch hit RBI double. Nix is now second on the team, behind Votto, in doubles. He's done that in 33 at-bats. This guys HAS to get more at-bats.

Paul Janish struck out JJ Hardy on 3 fastballs.... its the only pitch he has.

He is throwing the ball 90. Who knew?

Arroyo didn't help the team ERA. Neither will the backup SS. I guess this answers the starting SS question until Gonzo is back.

Why would they get Janish to throw batting practice in the end. I feel sorry for the poor guy...Fielder abused him once.

That team ERA is 2 runs per game higher at GABP than on the road. They have to learn to pitch at home if they are going to be a factor.

^ Why waste your bullpen for no reason?

I would have rather us forfeit than give up 5 more runs on a already depressing night. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid IMO.

What is the difference?

Paul Janish was hitting 90? Impressive.

Rough night, but a loss is a loss.

I've got 4 positives from tonight, looking at the box score (couldn't watch the game).

1. Brandon Phillips & Jay Bruce had solid nights at the plate.

2. It looks like Joey Votto got some rest.

3. The bullpen was solid. 7 IP, 6 Ks, 0 ER. Not counting Janish, of course.

4. Tomorrow is a new day.

What is the difference?

Obviously, 5 more runs since Janish gave up 5. :idunno:

^ It's a long season. This happens to every team. Bronson seems like he is all about rythm when he pitches, I would imagine warming up then being delayed 50 minutes and warming up again knocked him out of his grove. At least that is what I want to think.

And your point? They lost by 12 instead of 7. Losses go in the L column the same way no matter how many you lose by.

I just dont see no point in making your ERA worse than it is going to be already.

Why, so it looks good on paper? Or we can just abuse the bullpen some more for no reason. This is the last thing I thought someone would complain about tonight.

Why does it matter what their ERA is?

A loss is a loss no matter if its 2-1 or 20-1. No point in running out another bullpen pitcher when your have 4 big games coming up
